The Collegiate StarLeague has a big year ahead of it in 2020. With a rebrand just behind it on its 11th anniversary, CSL has also launched a fresh year of collegiate competitive esports throughout a vast landscape of universities and games. To up the ante, CSL has also added to its competitive catalog. Gears 5 will now join the list of games in the 2019-2020 season of Collegiate StarLeague competition.

Gears 5 is an interesting pick for the Collegiate StarLeague’s 2019-2020 season, which began for some games on October 19, 2019. Gears 5 got off to a running start in esports at launch with an ELEAGUE series, and Microsoft and The Coalition have since settled into a series of pro seasons, but CSL is currently set to fill the gap for collegiate play that can be found in a number of other popular esports titles. With over $200,000 in scholarships on the line throughout CSL’s 2019-2020 year, there’s plenty to play for beyond pride for every university involved.
