Popular gaming streamer shroud has announced that he will be streaming exclusively on Microsoft Mixer, joining Ninja as the second high-profile name to move over.

When Tyler “Ninja” Blevins announced previously that he would be moving from Twitch over to Mixer to stream exclusively, it shocked the gaming community. Now, it would seem another powerhouse of the streamer community is making the move. Michael “shroud” Grzesiek has just announced that he will be moving over to Microsoft Mixer as well.

Shroud made the announcement via his personal Twitter on October 24, 2019. In a small video, shroud confirmed that he would bringing his considerable talents and popularity over to Microsoft’s streaming platform. Grzesiek has been another popular force over on Twitch for a long time, running games like PUBG, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Apex Legends. With Call of Duty Modern Warfare just having launched, he started off his first stream on the Mixer platform by jumping into Activision’s new franchise shooter.

Shroud leaves behind a considerable clout of over 7 million followers on his Twitch channel. In the first 24 hours since his announcement, he gained over 350,000 over on his new Mixer channel. As mentioned, he is the second major streamer to do so, the first being Ninja, who still boasts over 14 million followers on his Twitch channel even after his transition over to Mixer, where Ninja has around 2.5 million following him now.

Despite the fact that Mixer doesn’t quite have the same popularity in streaming platforms as the long-established Twitch, Microsoft assuredly believes in the product. Many consider Mixer to be the more technically sound product, but it will certainly help to have major names like Ninja and Shroud there, and one begins to wonder who else Mixer might convince to jump ship if Microsoft can bring people of shroud’s caliber over.

Will you be watching shroud over on Mixer? Is it a good move for him? Stay tuned for the latest on streaming and more at Twin Galaxies.
