Following its collection of the inaugural Overwatch League championship in 2018, the London Spitfire dipped in performance during the 2019 season that saw the team finish in seventh place during the regular season. The San Franciso Shock would then eliminate London from the Season 2 playoffs with a dominating victory.
This struggle from last year was the driving force behind the complete revamp of the Spitfire's roster. Krillin is the only player who competed for the London Spitfire during the 2019 season to remain on the roster for the 2020 season.
