Evil Geniuses Reveals New Logo and Brand Revamp to Immediate Esports Community Backlash

To say that the esports community reacted poorly to the recent Evil Geniuses rebranding reveal would be a massive understatement.

Evil Geniuses has been a powerful name in the esports community since it made its grand debut back in 1999. Since then, this has community has continued to grow and thrive in an ever-changing market, thought it looks like the brand is in some hot water over recent branding - at least in terms of fan perception. 

Earlier this week, the team behind Evil Geniuses revealed their brand new logo and rebranding efforts and it was immediately met with backlash from the esports community. Gamers can be sentimental and many are fond of the memories this brand has build and change can be scary. With the original logo being the two letters of the brand's name melded together, the decision to do away with that entirely threw a lot of people for a massive loop. 

From the new jerseys to the new logo, it was a bit too much all at once it seems. The reactions - they weren't pretty: 

From fans to big-name esports teams, everyone weighed in on the big reveal and while some didn't have a problem with it the general consensus was that of disappointment. At the time this article was written the team over at Evil Geniuses has yet to provide a statement regarding the big change.
