The iconic esports organization will be teaming up with Artic Gaming to field an academy team for the world of professional League of Legends.

G2 Esports has been one of the most successful League of Legends teams in the world over the past few years with a variety of impressive performances against some of the best teams in the world. The most impressive of these finishes was the team's second-place finish at the 2019 League of Legends World Championship. However, the talented squad was also able to secure the LEC Spring and Summer championship in addition to its championship win at the Mid-Season Invitational.

Now, the organization will be looking to see the same level of success in the lower tier of professional League of Legends by teaming up with Artic Gaming.

The two organizations took to Twitter on Friday, January 3rd, to announce that they have joined forces to create the G2 Arctic Academy League of Legends team. The squad is sponsored by Chips Ahoy and will compete in the Spanish Superliga Orange while being run by Artic Gaming in Spain.

No players for G2 Artic have been announced officially. However, with the professional League of Legends scene ready to pick up once again shortly, it will not be surprising to see the members of the newly revealed team be announced in a short amount of time.
