When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare first launched, the 2v2 Gunfight mode was a huge incentive to play and it quickly became paramount for competitive players. The rewards for winning weren't too shabby either, but unfortunately, the beta period of the tournament was over fairly quickly and removed it from the overall title in order to make some much-needed fixes. Now, it's coming back.
For those unaware, Gunfight tournaments put 16 teams of 2 against each other in a single-elimination shootout. The reward was highly coveted cosmetic rewards, which makes Infinity's new rewards tease all the more enticing.
Infinity Ward took to Twitter to confirm the Gunfight tournament's return when one player asked what happened to this particular niche in the game:
They'll be back! We're fixing a few bugs here and there along with working on adding some new rewards.

Though the tweet didn't do much in the way of telling us when it will be coming back or what exactly the new rewards would be, it's still good to know that Infinity Ward has been working on making it even better and is aiming to have it back in the hands of players soon.
As for the game itself, Call of Duty Modern Warfare is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
