Call of Duty was the Best Selling Franchise of the Past Decade

Seven out of the top 10 best-selling video games from this last decade were from the Call of Duty franchise.

It is no secret that the Call of Duty franchise is one of the most successful and popular video game entities in the world, as the first-person shooter series has become a juggernaut in the world of entertainment. However, many players were likely not expecting to see the Call of Duty franchise dominate the rankings so heavily when it came to the best-selling video games of the past decade. 

According to a report by market research company The NPD Group, seven entries from the Call of Duty franchise were among the top ten best-selling video games of the 2010s. Rockstar Games has two titles on the list with Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption II. Then there is Minecraft, which rounds out the list at number 10.

9. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

10. Minecraft

GTAV is the largest entertainment product in history when it comes to money made, so it is not shocking to see it at the top of the list. However, the staying power of Call of Duty has never been more apparent, as the yearly release cycle for the series resulted in a plethora of its entries bringing in an enormous amount of cash.
