And another Hallowe'en is done - which means that Thanksgiving isn't far behind? Well, it's not time to break out the turkey dinner just yet, not while we have another crop of video game submissions to show off as part of the Twin Galaxies Scoreboard Spotlight. This time around we're going to take a look at a kill-screen performance, some expert driving, a food fight without food, a puzzling score, and an exciting elevator ride, all of which were peer-reviewed by community members through Twin Galaxies Submission and Adjudication Process (TGSAP). Let's get started!
Jim Boyce - Donkey Kong (Arcade) - Points [Hammer Allowed]
Jim Boyce joined the Killscreen Club with a great performance on what some gamers have pronounced as the greatest platformer of all time -- Donkey Kong. After 22 levels and 117 individual screens, Jim achieved one of the most famous milestones in the classic arcade scene where a bug in the game's programming causes the timer to have a limit of 4 seconds, effectively ending the game. Closing out his game with 2 remaining lives, John earned 903,200 points for a killer ending.
Daniel Yamnitz - Pole Position II (Arcade) - Suzuka Track - Points
Recently, the TG community has witnessed some remarkable competition on the Pole Position II leaderboards, which brings us to the latest entry from Daniel Yamnitz. As a former record holder on the Suzuka Track, Daniel leveraged his experience to find those necessary improvements in overall speed and passing to finish with a new high score and TG world record of 77,340 points.
Justin Emory - Food Fight (Arcade) - *No Throw Challenge* - Points
Ever try to win at food fight without throwing any food? Justin Emory did, and he earned an inaugural record on the memorable arcade game Food Fight as part of the No Throw Challenge. On this determined run, Justin literally had to keep running at lightning speed past the bananas, peas, and watermelons in order to eat the melting ice cream cone before he got pelted by the nasty chefs. For his efforts, Justin finished with an amazing 1,299,500 points.
Romain Chalmel - Tetris DX (Game Boy Color) - Marathon Mode - Lines
For his first submission to Twin Galaxies, Romain Chalmel powered up his Game Boy and turned to an iconic puzzler for a Marathon Mode finish. Yes, Romain chose none other than Tetris DX where he put in a colorful and inspiring run. By clearing 915 lines, Romain inscribed his name onto the TG leaderboard in 5th place.
Sergio German Oubel - Elevator Action Returns (M.A.M.E.) - Points [1 Player Only]
Sergio German Oubel achieved a blissful state of perfection with a new TG world record on the arcade title Elevator Action Returns. Sergio was put through his paces as special task force member Edie Burret with the mission of defeating a terrorist group and their plans for nuclear armageddon by stealing secret plans to defuse them. Sergio not only defeated the terrorists in this high action sequel but he maxed out the game's score for a final tally of 999.990 points.
