What happens in the Steel Cage, stays in the Steel Cage – except when the winner climbs out to earn a new record – and more!

Whether you're swelting in summer heat in the Southern Hemisphere or dealing with bone-chilling temperatures in the north, the one thing that can take your mind off the weather raging outside is a review of the latest achievements from the Twin Galaxies community. In this installment of the Scoreboard Spotlight, we'll hit the carnival, play some basketball, take a spin down the track, put on some boxing gloves, and practice our wrestling moves, so step into the ring!

Daniel Ocampo – Carnival King (WiiWare) – Points

Daniel Ocampo left the carnival barkers speechless as he racked up a new high score on the Nintendo WiiWare title Carnival King. With steady aim, Daniel cleared 5 different stages on the Arcadia event and toppled a 13 year-old record in the process with a final score of 40,250 points.

MTP75  –  NBA Live 95 (Sega Genesis) – Biggest Blowout

MTP75 added new lore to the fabled history of the Golden State Warriors with a crushing victory over the Washington Bullets playing NBA Live 95 for the Sega Genesis. There wasn't much left of the Bullets on the court after four quarters of MTP75's dominating play, forcing turn-overs galore and endless field goals for a final score of 225 to 44, clinching a biggest blowout margin of 181 points.

Pat Larocque –  Dragster (Atari 2600+) – Fastest Time

Pat Larocque joined a new generation of Atari action with his recent purchase of the retro next generation Atari 2600+ console. To mark the occasion, Pat turned to the Activision classic Dragster for some old-fashioned racing track action. Although he hadn't played the cartridge in a few years, Pat tapped into his reservoir of Dragster knowledge and after several blown engines he shifted his way to a fastest time of 5.67 seconds.

Don Atreides – Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (NES) – Fastest KO/TKO

Don Atreides fired up his NES for a few rounds of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, which he began with what he called “the obligatory Glass Joe submission.” Fighting as Little Mac, Don landed all the right blows to send Joe to the mat with a KO victory in 42 seconds flat, joining 32 other competitors in a tie for first place on the TG leaderboard.

LAH16 – WWF No Mercy (Nintendo 64) – Fastest Win

LAH16 was not in a forgiving mood as he clinched a new fastest victory on the Nintendo 64 classic WWF No Mercy. Fighting in the ultimate Steel Cage Match, LAH16 ended the match before it really began as he pulled six consecutive sleeper holds on his nameless foe that sent the dude to the floor followed by LAH's rapid climb out of the cage to seal the victory in 54 seconds flat.

This covers our Scoreboard Spotlight for this week. As a reminder, these were just a few of exceptional records that were adjudicated and accepted recently. Every record that made it through verification and landed on our leaderboards has a well-deserved place in the Twin Galaxies gaming pantheon.

Keep scoring high, finishing fast, and game on!
