Scoreboard Spotlight: Mike Hartman Races Pole Position II & More!

A classic arcade rivalry heats up with an exhilarating battle for first place on the leaderboard, along with other legendary gaming feats

Maybe you're planning to race to the Path of Totality to catch the solar eclipse, or maybe you're wondering who raced to the top of the TG leaderboards? Either way, we have you covered with another instalment of the Scoreboard Spotlight. Check it out! This week we have balloons, plenty of firepower, a jumping Pac-Man, digging in the dirt, and a new racing record, so read on!


Matthew Felix – Balloon Kid – Balloon Trip Challenge (NES) – First Rank

Matthew Felix made a record out of balloon collecting and won Patrick Stanley's Balloon Trip Challenge with his run on Balloon Kid for the Nintendo Game Boy. Competing in “Balloon Trip” game mode, Matthew steered the ever-determined Alice on a quest to collect all the balloons left by Jim and earned an in-game rank of first place, which put Matthew in first place for the challenge. Congratulations! 

Michael Sroka  –  Fire Power (PlayStation 2) – Points 

Michael Sroka took control of the Ultimate Space Machine and earned a personal best score playing a virtual recreation of the 1980 pinball masterpiece Firepower. By lighting up the bonus multiplier and activating the ball saver shield, Michael set the stage for a multi-ball extravaganza that unleashed a final score of 1,657,070 points.

Poly Player – Pac-Mania (PlayStation 2) – Points

There's a new Pac Mania Pro in town! Firing up his PlayStation 2 console, Poly Player demonstrated his Pac-Man bona fides by making it through 19 rounds of ghost-filled mazes Pac-leaping action that led to a final Pac-tastic score of 1,266,760 points.

j3j_ajxx – Dig Dug  (Arcade 1Up) – Points

j3j_ajxx kicked off a new round of competition on the Arcade1Up Arcade Cabinet by digging up a big inaugural score for everyone's favorite retro hit Dig Dug. After 34 rounds of gardening action, j3j_ajxx showed the world how dangerous a bike pump can be as he closed in on an impressive final tally of 332,490 points.

Mike Hartman – Pole Position II (Arcade) – Points 

Mike Hartman saw his score slip to second place before he went “right back atcha” with a new TG record on Pole Position II's Suzuka track, keeping up a legendary rivalry with a final score of 77,910 points to reclaim first place on the TG leaderboard.
