Sometimes when you're good enough, you can teach an old PC racing game new tricks.

Wasn't it just Labor Day two weeks ago? (checks calendar) It was! Where did that time go? Before you know it, you'll be seeing Hallowe'en candy for sale at your local grocery store! What, it's already out? Okay, that might be a surprise, but it's no surprise that we have 5 fantastic highlights to share this week in the Scoreboard Spotlight! First we'll say hi to an Italian plumber, then it's off to the race track followed by a quick visit to the bank, sneaking a ride on a blimp and finally a race through midtown, so read on!

Paulsammarco – Donkey Kong (Arcade) – Points

paulsammarco continued his climb up the high score ladder by pushing his recent run on Nintendo's iconic Donkey Kong through to Level 11 and a final score of 401,600 points, beating his previous best by 77,700 points. Congratulations!

Ethanthemusicman77 – Pole Position (Arcade) – Points

Last month, TG welcomed new member Ethanthemusicman77 who joined the crew with a submission on a Golden Age classic – the arcade racer Pole Position. As a first submission, Ethan put up his name up on the leaderboard with 47,100 points, with more to come on his “road to 67k.”

Evan04 – Bank Panic (Arcade) – Points

Played at the Arcade Club Bury, Evan04 earned his sheriff's star with a gun-slingin' personal best score on 1984 arcade shooter Bank Panic. With a rotating cast of customers depositing cash or masked robbers who want to steal it all, Evan04 picked his targets carefully and scooped up 715,700 points for third place on the TG leaderboard.

Matthew Picou – Bonanza Bros (PC) – Score

Matthew Picou made a break for the exit and slipped away with a new high score on the 1990 stealth action game Bonanza Bros. With the objective of sneaking into guarded buildings to retrieve objects before escaping via a rooftop blimp, Matthew made off like a bandit with a TG record of 224,200 points.

Andrew Mee – Midtown Madness (PC) – Time

Andrew Mee was the lucky driver of a Panoz Roadster thanks to a spin on the PC release Midtown Madness. Against a crowded CPU field, Andrew took an early lead by doing some urban off-roading on the “Tough Turns & a Tunnel” course that got him to the finish line in 1:10.33.

This covers our Scoreboard Spotlight for this week. As a reminder, these were just a few of exceptional records that were adjudicated and accepted recently. Every record that made it through verification and landed on our leaderboards has a well-deserved place in the Twin Galaxies gaming pantheon.

Keep scoring high, finishing fast, and game on!
