Anyone have any left over candy? Or have any Hallowe'en decorations still set out? Perfect! And even if you're one of those people who manages to remove all signs of Trick or Treat in 24 hours flat, you can still enjoy a spooky Hallowe'en themed Scoreboard Spotlight! On October 31, we served up some of the spookiest TG records of all time, so pull up a chair and enjoy some frightful video game achievements.
Gsamspson35 – Ghost Manor (Atari 2600) – Points
In October 2017, Gsampson35 went toe-to-toe against the Prince of Darkness and brought light to the TG leaderboard with a new record on 1983 horror video game Ghost Manor for the Atari 2600. Defeating the Chopping Mummy and his army of ghouls, Gsampson35 saved the best for last by crossing out Dracula for a final score of 536,854 points.
Daniel Brown – Super Ghouls n' Ghosts (SNES) – Points
For Hallowe'en, we ventured into the TG Video Tape Archive Vault to share Daniel Brown's 14 year-old record on the SNES classic Super Ghouls n' Ghosts. In March 2010, he guided the brave knight Arthur on a quest to rescue Princess Guinevere and in doing so, he banished his competitors with a world record score of 736,700 points.
kernzyp – Chiller (Commodore 64) – Points
In April 2018, no one was gonna save kernzyp from the beast about to strike in Chiller for the Commodore 64. Fighting for his life insider a killer, chiller tonight, kernzyp wandered through haunted landscapes retrieving magic crosses and saving the girl in distress before claiming a TG record of 3,450 points.
wirretheman – Zombie Raid (M.A.M.E.) – Points
When a small English village suffered a series of grave-robbing incidents, wirretheman loaded up for a big shoot-out on the horror-themed light gun shooter Zombie Raid. Luckily for wirretheman, a quick trigger finger proved to be a critical advantage in taking out the undead before his run came to an end with 17,290 points.
This wraps up our Scoreboard Spotlight Hallowe'en 2024 Edition! As a reminder, these were just a few of exceptional creepy records that were adjudicated and accepted for recognition on the TG leaderboard. Every record that made it through verification has a well-deserved place in the Twin Galaxies gaming pantheon.
