We're just a few days away from the debut of a new year but the calendar change-over hasn't put a damper on the arrival of new TG world records and gaming achievements. In fact, this is a perfect time to take a look at the past week to get up to speed on what you might have missed! For this edition of the Scoreboard Spotlight we'll race with a punch, raid the leaderboard, manage commuter traffic, get in a cage fight and lace up our skates for some hockey blow-out action so read on!
Desidious – Road Rash (Sega Genesis) – Fastest Time
Desidious delivered a punishing performance and a new personal best on Road Rash for the Sega Genesis. Right off the start, she let those satisfying punches fly to get a leg up on the competition to finish the Redwood Forest course with a fastest time of 2:48.6.
Garrett Holland – River Raid (Atari 2600) – First Life - Points
Garrett Holland raided the TG leaderboard and destroyed the competition with a new high score playing Activision's iconic hit River Raid, pushing the “1st life” limit on his raid to 72,660 points for a Twin Galaxies World Record. Congratulations!
Pat Larocque – Cosmic Commuter (Atari 2600+) – Points
Pat Larocque fired up his brand-new Atari 2600+ console for a 21st century experience playing Activision's 1985 shooter Cosmic Commuter. Working for the Galactic Transit Authority in the year 2075 A.D., Pat had a 3 hour shift delivering commuters to the Grand Central Space Station where he racked up a TG record score of 400,255 points.
LAH16 – Def Jam: Fight for NY (PlayStation 2) – Fastest Victory
Good things happen to LAH16 when he's stuck in a cage against Chiang on Def Jam: Fight For NY on the PS2. Things got off to a nasty start with Chiang getting in some good hits but LAH16 shook it off to get the knock-out and fastest victory record at 1:16.0.
Limpan – NHL '94 (Sega Megadrive – PAL Region) – Biggest Blowout
Limpan was stoked as he hit the ice in his fight for the TG world record on NHL '94 for the Sega Genesis. Pulling his goalie from the first face-off for an extra attacker, Limpan led the All-Stars West squad on a 3 period demolition of the Anaheim Ducks to win it all with a biggest blow-out score of 91 goals.
This covers our Scoreboard Spotlight for this week. As a reminder, these were just a few of exceptional records that were adjudicated and accepted recently. Every record that made it through verification and landed on our leaderboards has a well-deserved place in the Twin Galaxies gaming pantheon.
Keep scoring high, finishing fast, and game on!
