The tie-breaker matches are coming thick and fast, with Team Liquid claiming victory over Cloud9 as they look for better seeding heading into playoffs in the NA LCS.

For the second tie-breaker match of the day, Team Liquid and Cloud9 were battling for the right to fight for third place. The loser of this match would be forced to play again for the 5th and 6th playoffs slot. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.

Cloud9 claimed first blood with a gank on the mid lane, before both teams look for vision control of the Dragon pit. After pushing in the mid lane, Cloud9 moved to secure the first Dragon of the game. When they attempted to continue the bot pressure, Cloud9 were collapsed upon by Liquid, who claimed a kill and used the Rift Herald to push down the turret.

Both teams continue to clash in the mid lane, and when a team fight breaks out, Cloud9 are able to secure another kill. With both teams pulling back in the aftermath, Liquid take the opportunity to secure a Dragon for themselves, before both teams look towards vision control of Baron. Liquid opt to pressure the mid lane, pushing Cloud9 back before taking down both outer turrets as the battle for vision control continues.

Team Liquid make a coordinated attack onto Cloud9 in the top lane, taking down two members of the C9 squad before establishing vision control of the Baron pit. When the teams recover and engage in the mid lane, both gain a single kill in a mid laner trade, though Cloud9 are forced to retreat from the Liquid assault. When Cloud9 attempt to rush the Baron, Team Liquid are able to dive in and steal it away, picking up two kills in the process.

With the power of the Baron buff, Team Liquid manage to push into the base of Cloud9 and destroy two inhibitors before withdrawing to spend their excess gold. With the Elder Dragon on the map, both teams look to establish control of the area, but Team Liquid manage to catch out Cloud9, gaining a kill before securing the buff. Pushing into the top lane, Liquid claim another kill before beginning their assault on the base of Cloud9. After claiming more kills, Liquid finally destroy the nexus as they look for better seeding heading into playoffs.
