Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek and Jaryd "summit1g" Lazar are two of the biggest streamers on Twitch and routinely pull in tens of thousands of viewers who love to watch the two players compete in multiple titles. Both streamers became household names with their success in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with summit1g as a professional player/streamer and Shroud as a professional player for Cloud9. Having drifted away from CS:GO, Shroud and summit1g have found themselves playing a large amount of Fortnite recently. During one of their latest matches, summit1g challenged Shroud to a match on the Pleasant Park soccer field.
Shroud took the role of the offensive player and had control of the ball first with summit1g playing goalie. The former professional CS:GO player then began dribbling the soccer ball towards his opponent of summit1g, but quickly decided that he had a great tool to help him in securing the easy victory. Equipping an impulse grenade from his inventory, Shroud tossed the handy tool towards summit1g and sent the unexpecting goalie flying straight to the left of the goal, thus giving Shroud a wide open net. Shroud took advantage of the opportunity and scored the game winning goal. Shocked at what his opponent had just done, summit1g accused Shroud of cheating, but it did not phase the victor, as Shroud commenced a celebration dance in the honor of his clever impulse grenade play.
While summit1g most likely did not expect Shroud to pull that kind of move out of his pocket when he issued the challenge, with no rules set at the beginning, it is hard to claim that Shroud did anything nefarious. The streamer took adavantage of an opportunity and capitalized to the fullest extent. Perhaps in the future, Epic Games will create a soccer focused game mode for Fortnite that will give summit1g an opportunity to exact his revenge.
