Sharp has announced his second retirement from Call of Duty, while his teammates leave Ascendant for greener pastures.

Long-time Call of Duty veteran, Brendan ‘Sharp’ Rodgers, has announced his retirement from Call of Duty: WWII in the wake of a disappointing top 64 placement at CWL Atlanta. The 24 year old teamed up with other veterans Jeremy ‘Neslo’ Olsen, Marcus ‘MiRx’ Carter and Adam ‘Killa’ Sloss, but they weren’t able to surge through the open bracket and bring home the bacon.

In an announcement tweet, Sharp thanked his former teammates, along with Tosh ‘Stainville’ McGruder and Jamal ‘Whea7s’ Lee for their opportunities under both Ascendant and Pure, while in a reply to Whea7s he said he’d be spending a lot of time playing Fortnite. In a reply to Call of Duty MLG caster and ex-pro player John ‘Revan’ Boble, Sharp said that he’d still be attending some of the upcoming events throughout the season.

In the Reddit thread discussing his retirement, /u/1033149 said that this news was expected. “Atlanta was a last ditch effort and with him now having a gf, I would have been surprised to see him continue.” He goes on to say that Sharp is one of the funniest pro players though and that he hopes he returns to YouTube.

Neslo, MiRx and Killa are currently looking for a player to complete their squad for the rest of WWII, though it's unknown who they're going to pick up.

Sharp has had a storied history, originally playing for teams such as FeaR, Xtravagant and vVv until 2013 when he found a permanent home with Team Kaliber. Since then he’s always represented tK, through the rosters he’s played for in Call of Duty and the online content he’s created. He’s achieved many things in his time, but perhaps the most impressive has to go to his first place finishes back on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 at the MLG National Championships.

In other Call of Duty news, the FaZe apartment was broken into this week and approximately $10,000 worth of equipment was stolen from Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto.
