With their victory today, Vitality have set a date for their showdown with Fnatic in the Semi-finals nest week.

A do or die match for both teams with the fate of their playoff hopes and dreams on the line. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.

Both teams made early moves this game, but neither were able to achieve a significant advantage over the other in terms of kill pressure. Vitality did secure control over the bot side river in time to claim the first Dragon of the match, before rotating to the top lane to dive the turret and claim first blood. With H2K still reeling from the top lane fight, Vitality engaged upon the mid lane, claiming another kill before pulling back once more.

Vitality kept the momentum going by attacking the mid lane again, taking down the first turret of the match before looking to again attack the top lane. While the engage in the top lane did net them a kill, it also cost them one of their own, giving H2K space to secure their first Dragon of the match. H2K turn their recent fortunes around in the bot lane, with a team fight resulting in two kills and a turret, evening up the gold difference for now.

H2K turn their attention to the top side, moving to secure the Rift herald before a team fight allows them to pick up two more kills. As a new Dragon spawns, both teams look for positioning, and while H2K pick up the Dragon, Vitality take down three members of H2K in response. While Vitality attempted to press their advantage, H2K managed to pick up a kill but lost their jungler in the process. With the risk of a Baron steal removed, Vitality moved to secure the buff before withdrawing to reset.

With the added pushing power from the Baron buff, Vitality shove in the mid lane to take down the outer turrets and destroy the inhibitor before rotating to do the same in the bot lane. Having destroyed two inhibitors, Vitality pulled back to secure their second Dragon of the match while H2K attempted to push out the waves and create space.

With so much pressure across the map, Vitality move to the top lane to again destroy the turrets and take down the inhibitor. As the teams clashed in the mid lane, H2K managed to take down two members of Vitality, forcing them to fall back for the time being. As the teams regrouped, Vitality started the Baron, and though H2K attempted to steal it away Vitality did secure the buff before pulling back to set up a final advance. The final team fight was a bloody and drawn out affair as both teams picked up kills before Vitality finally closed out the game and the series.

With this series win, Vitality will advance to the semi-finals to face Fnatic as the EU LCS playoffs continue. You can see when that match will be played on the Official Schedule page, here, and for more on this series, check out the recap from the previous games, here.
