Beginning on March 29th and ending on April, the Score Wars: Galaga World Championship will be taking place at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico, home to the famous immersive arts experience, the House of Eternal Return. The pro level competition will be featuring ten elite Galaga players making world record marathon attempts in the $10,000 prize tournament. The pro level competition will include three legacy champs (Philip Day, Andrew Barrow and Andrew Laidlaw) and seven Pro-Level competitors (Armando Gonzales, Kieth "Arcade Doctor" Swanson, Tanner Rousseau, Mark Schult, Jon Klinkel, John McAllister and one mystery guest).
Amateur-Level competition will consist of players who were not able to pre-qualify as pros. These players will have the opportunity in two days of qualifying rounds from March 29th to March 30th. On Saturday, March 31st the top ten players from the Amateur-Level competition will face off in a single eliminations tournament to claim the grand prize of $1,500.
Score Wars is a live streamed video game tournament presented by Meow Wolf, an arts and entertainment group that creates immersive and interactive experiences for people of all ages. The Galaga World Championship competition will be broadcasted on Meow Wolf's official Twitch channel.
