With their second 4-0 victory of the week, and the second 4-0 series of the day, New York have crushed their opponents, sending the London Spitfire into a tailspin.

Keeping the momentum of the previous games going, New York made quick work of the London Spitfire today, claiming another clean 4-0 to take the series. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.

The first map, Temple of Anubis, saw New York making their first strike of the series. Overwhelming the London defence, New York pushed deep into the map to rapidly secure the first objective. Their momentum proving too strong for London, New York managed to capture the second point with relative ease, ending the first round with an excess of remaining time. When it came time for London to attack, they were quickly faced with an uphill battle, as the defence from New York nearly proved too much. Though they were able to capture the first point with great effort, London found themselves being repeatedly rebuffed by the second line of New York defence, only finding the point in overtime. Because of the time disparity, New York only had to capture part of the first point, something they managed with ease due to their overwhelming amount of available time, giving them a 1 map lead in the series.

The second map, Blizzard World, proved a bit more difficult for New York. Though they were able to secure the first point, they found the defence from London more than capable of stopping them before they could reach the second, ending the round just shy of the mark. London’s attack, on the other hand, never seemed to get off the ground. Finding themselves repeatedly blocked by a stalwart New York defence, London never even managed to get any alone time on the point, and as the clock ran out they found themselves completely walled away from victory.

The third map, Nepal, was a much tighter series than before. New York were the first to draw blood, capturing and holding the point against everything London could throw at them. The second round seemed acceptable for New York, though London was able to bully them away from the point multiple times. Ultimately, London claimed victory in the second round, and the stage was set for a do-or-die confrontation in round three. The third and final round would go to New York again. Though London put up a valiant effort, New York proved too much for them, wresting control away and securing the zone to claim victory. With this capture, New York had secured the round, map, and series victory in one fell swoop.

The fourth and final map, Junkertown, presented another dominant performance from the New York Excelsior. Moving the payload through the first checkpoints proved easy work for the New York squad, facing only comparatively minor resistance as they approached the third. London could not hold the line in the end, and New York walked away with more than enough time remaining. The London attack got off to a good start, though they struggled to keep the momentum going. Getting bottlenecked around the second point, London persevered to reach their goal, setting up a final push to reach the end of the map. Unfortunately for London, this was where New York had laid their trap, with dominant vantage points preventing London from reaching their goal. In the end, New York held them off long enough that the match was over, securing a clean sweep of the series.
