Any THPS2 fans out there? That's Tony Hawk for those that don't know.

I know the series progressed and carried on and on, but THPS2 on the PS1 specifically, will always be my favorite.

What's your favorite, if you even like any of them?

I'm only asking because I found an old survey that Activision gave me with a pre-release copy of the came. There's a whole other story where that came from. More on that some other time.

Hec

2 was great, and my second favorite, but 1 is definitely #1 to me!

    :)

Not nearly as cool as your pre-release, but I had a demo disc that had the Hangar a couple months before the game came out, by the time it did me and a buddy had the mechanics pretty much down.

Call me on it if this sounds wrong, but my 2 memory was going to a buddy's house I didn't know too well(ironically, I can look out my door right now and see the house, wound up moving a couple doors down from him years later, good buds), and he would play the level that was, I think, an actual skatepark, had a wall section, then a big street section(sorry...), and he would just go in a circle around the thing, continually chaining tricks, would stop minutes after the timer had expired for CRAZY points, was hard to believe.

I actually still have a copy of THPS2!

    :)

I was always a big fan of N64 vesions mainly because that was the first I played and it's what the kid in the dorm next door had during college. I still like to plug 3 in from time to time, but I'm nowhere near the level you and some others are at

I was a fan of THPS2 for the Sega Dreamcast. That console was too good for this world; rest in peace boo boo

    That’s pretty cool Hec!

Absolutely love the Tony hawks series

1-2 and 4 are my favourites . In that oder.

Went to a gaming convention in Denmark when I was 14 years old. when they released THUG and I won the competition they had . Against a bunch of other players and won the Game and got it a bit earlier then it got released it stores . With a one of a kind cover that congratulated you for winning it . And a 1 year free subscription to the PS2 magazine and a PS2 sweatshirt .

I still have the cover In a storage unit back in Denmark and will hopefully get it all shipped to Australia in the near future and I’ll post a pic.

Hopefully will be submitting some scores in the future . But don’t worry Hec your scores are safe (:

Since we are telling stories, lol!

    :P

Scammed this from my Son recently, if I tried to stand on it I'd likely break my head open, lol!

I claim non-athleticism, that's mostly team sports, but I was a decent skater-we hadn't figured out all you could do on a skateboard in the mid/late 80's, so "decent" wasn't terribly good then, compared to what peoples do now, kickflips and two foot ollies were pretty good, ha!

Tho I was relatively hardcore Powell Peralta(I never found Animal Chin...), I actually didn't like the 80's TH boards, they were just too big for me, I had a half dozen Caballero decks tho, def my favorite.

Went all weird and started riding freestyle at the end of my skater days, lol, them lil skinny boards(I imagine todays skaters would laugh pretty hard at those...), had a couple Mullen boards, and I think Lance Mountain had a freestyle board that I had, can't clearly remember.

My last deck was the Danny Way, with the Gnome sitting in the hand, was the coolest graphic ever!!!

THPS2 - the only game I played in the series. On Dreamcast. First game I got, with my dreamcast. Still have both. Despite widespread mixed feelings about the DC controllers, they worked great for THPS2.

@Rogerpoco I don't remember Lance having a freestyle board, but wouldn't put it past his wackiness to get Powell to release one for him.

I'll chime in.. Skated throughout High School, did a few Tournaments (never placed higher than 9th), lived that life for many years into the 90s. I had the pleasure of skating with the Powell and Dog Town crew when they toured in the late 80s. I went through so many decks (and sneakers) that only a few stand-out. Favorite decks: Blind Jason Lee Cat in the Hat (remember pulling my first 360 kick-flip on that), Powell Vallely (Elephant), Jessie Martinez Robot in Jail deck. I was a local at Samurai Skates in Rochester, NY and was lucky enough to get quite a bit gear free or majorly discounted. Looking back, those were some of the best times of my life, care-free, no bills and a skateboard :P Last time I jumped on a board was about 2 years ago and surprisingly was able to still ollie, kickflip, no-comply, the basics (my feet hurt for days though). The one thing I wish we had back then were phone cameras or cheap cameras, as I only remember friends recording on VHS.. doubt those tapes still exist.

As for THPS, I loved and played them all up to 4 I think. 2 or 3 (been so long, can't remember) were my favorites. Which one was THPS Underground? I remember that one being decent as well.

I was always a BMX fan first so Dave Mirra & Mat Hoffman games were my preference. Before I found them or THPS, it was Grind Session. The THPS games were its equal or superior but just didn't come first to give me that wow effect, they were just polished a little better. Of the THPS games, however, I didn't get to my comfort zone (keyboard input) until THPS 3 on the PC. I didn't take much to THPS4 or the subsequent versions.

I'm back! I wasn't trying to ignore you all after posting this. I was busy having fun at CAX. I got shredded in the Vector tournament and did OK in the Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting tournament.

I'm glad to see that there are some THPS fans out there! And very cool to see you all sharing stories and pics of decks. I only have 1 Hawk deck and it's one that came with one of the games. Not so special. But I do have one deck that I cherish. It's a Suicidal Tendencies with a personal message from Mike Muir.

Since it looks like many of you like the series, skating AND games of course, I'll share a video from the competition that Memo was referring to.

Catch me lying to the crowd to gain support! Hehe!

No idea why Caballero was my Guy, I just liked him the most.

Saw him in a commercial recently, pretty neat to see him still "out there" doing something!
