Scoreboard Spotlight Bounties - Seeking Suggestions

Afternoon friends,

So when I picked up the Scoreboard Spotlight duties I wanted to add a way to get the community excited to keep chasing scores and times. The bounty system was my approach and while folks seem to react positively to it, aside from my score attempt on Metal Slug (later redacted), there hasn't been any submissions.

So let's brainstorm! I do eventually want to include an actual incentive other than a spot on the weekly article, but that'll have to wait. I do want to reach out and see what all games we should have as bounties.

My thought process is to find something that doesn't have a lot of submissions, is fairly easy to get a hold of/emulate, and has an easy to compare performances (scoreboard at the end, timer, etc).

So what do you all suggest? Be thinking on some for the later half of July and through August.

Personally, I would love to see someone beat the Adventures of Lolo 3 and Lone Ranger speedruns from the NES as these two TG records are the longest standing speedruns in the database. They are also some of the longest standing speedruns overall if you compare dates to other sites.

I would love to see some Hydro Thunder competition on the n64 since there isn't any and it's fairly easy to play and get into. Tracks are already set up.

I feel like maybe you should look for opportunities to work with some gaming communities or personalities, see if you can find some existing interest in some titles with few entries.

The other side is to look at where the activity is here on TG, at least system wise, and build from that. There's a pretty clear divide as to where most of it lies - typically toward the old consoles and MAME.

I like this idea an awful lot! The only issue is those are two big asks that I want to hype up as much as possible. These would be perfect if we could get some sort of prize going.
