Donkey Kong: Highest score without using the jump button [PPMDC]
How high can you get... when you can't even jump? Score as many points as you can in original Donkey Kong without using the jump button. All winners of this bounty will be featured in a future piece at perfectpacman.com.
So much of original Donkey Kong's scoring is tied up in the jump button - from jumping barrels and "pies", to grabbing otherwise unreachable hammers, all the way up to leeching Kong's foot. But how many points can you get when you take all of that away?
For this challenge, score as many points as you can without using the jump button at all. We're talking bonus timers, rivets, and Pauline paraphernalia. I don't believe there are any no-jump points one can acquire before the bonus timer reward at the end of the first board, but if you know of any, surprise me!
If you're wondering how it's even possible to pass the first board without jumping, I was eventually able to do it after many attempts. I've recorded my more successful practice inps here:

If somehow you manage to get to the elevator screen jumpless, please continue from that point using the minimum jumps required to pass that board. This will not be considered invalidating the run up to that point, and both your pre- and post-jump scores will be recognized. All other use of the jump button however will be considered invalidating, so be careful! [ADDENDUM: While I doubt anyone will get this far, someone rightly pointed out that all barrel boards from 3-1 on will require a jump over the first diagonally thrown blue barrel. That one minimum jump on each of those barrel boards is also allowed.]
Arcade and MAME both accepted, subject to standard TGSAP verification. (Input files, version of MAME used, you know the drill.)
Other PPMDC bounty rules:
- All performances must be recorded from start to finish, and must adhere to general TGSAP rules and community expectations, including those particular to the platform and emulation being used.
- The date of this achievement must be stated. It is requested, but not required, that submissions for this bounty be achieved on or after the date this bounty is posted. No proof is required for date of achievement, and submitted runs for this bounty will not be disqualified on that basis. (In other words, it's safe to vote on submissions that lack proof of date but appear otherwise genuine.) However, submitting old runs, or misrepresenting dates, may disqualify the submitter from recognition for future PPMDC bounties.
- No major glitches aside from any specified in the bounty description.
- Swag strats are encouraged, and will be featured in the eventual write-up.

In September 2023, perfectpacman.com will post a write-up featuring the results of the second round of PPMDC bounties hosted at TG. Everyone who submits a valid run will be featured. Winners will also be given the opportunity to have their comments about this challenge or any other appropriate gaming-related topic published.
Top billing will be given to the player who achieves the highest score. In the case of a tie, the quickest to achieve that highest score will win the tiebreaker.

Is playing this on Arcade Archives on Switch allowed?
Apologies for missing this question earlier. Yes, that's allowed! There may be some changes to under-the-hood randomness, so it may not qualify for Donkey Kong Forum, but that's not important for this challenge.
