Does anyone know anything about the top score on this track, where this was performed at, who the gamer is, anything at all about performance?

Based on the date, it was probably from the Video Game Masters Tournament. You'd need more research to find out where it was played, but I'm almost certain that's the event it came from.

I did find that he was from Madison Wisconsin at the time, and this score is supposed to be listed in one of the Guinness books, 86' or 87'.
