Please consider the following regarding use of a point pressing strategy vs. leaching. 

A player may run over a grated piece of road, which causes a flag to jar loose and can be collected for points. The player may invoke a strategy that 'traps' the enemy(ies) in a section of maze. This will allow the player to continue to rack-up points indefinitely. As a fair way to award points for the skill needed to pull of this strategy and limit the indefinite leeching, it recommended to impose a cap on the maximum points a player can accumulate over the grated road. Since the maximum number of flags jarred away from the player is eight and each flag collect is worth an additional 100, the cap per life is (3,600 = 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800). Each stage has four lives so the total cap per record attempt is 4 X 3,600 or 14,400.
