Special Rules: Your scoring attempts ends when either you lose your 1ST LIFE or you successfully defeat Bowser. You may freely warp as you choose. While leeching IS permitted, you MAY NOT bounce off enemies past a 3-UP bonus. If you do so, your record/attempt will be immediately disqualified. [This is due to a scoring bug in the game] Going through yellow bricks from using a spin jump while wearing a cape IS allowed. Flying/falling through solid walls / floors / ceilings of ANY kind is NOT permitted.

While you may use the Select Button as many times as you want if you have a Mushroom or Fire Flower in the item box, you are NOT permitted to use the Select Button when you have a Feather in the item box. Use of the Select Button to drop the Feather in the item box will immediately disqualify your scoring attempt.

You MAY Re-Enter a Stage only ONCE and if you do, you MUST exit through the Secondary goal. If you complete the Stage through the goal you previously used, your scoring attempt will IMMEDIATELY end there. The exception here is the Top Secret stage, as you may only enter that ONCE and ONCE ONLY!

If you successfully complete the game, you may use your time for the Fastest Minimalist Completion Time or Fastest Full Completion Time, depending on if you completed all 96 goals or not.
