    Finally automate my submissions*. :P

    * Just for clarity: not the adjudications of other people's stuff (though auto-vote on my own is already implemented).

Here are at least some of the goals I'm thinking:

    - Have a 1st place score accepted for every console platform that I own. (Missing 7800, Intellivision, NES, N64, Wii)

    - Get @Jace Hall to finally approve merding the Xbox 360 Live Arcade platform into the Xbox 360 platform.

    - Get all my 1st places back for Xbox Burnout games!

To involve myself in the submission queue and submitting scores instead of socializing. It would be great to use this place to add tracks to help tackle my backlog.

One of the main "lack of enticement" issues I have with the scoreboard is the lack of other players playing the same games at the same time. TrackMania titles currently have an unusually high number of people competing "simultaneously" (5!).

Something I was considering broaching with Rodrigo before "events happened" was use the Tournament section to compete with him on Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia. Obviously that's not going to happen now. Perhaps chuck up some Tournaments to entice people?

That's one of the reasons I wanted TG to add a "Most Active" sort to the game list, so someone looking for games to compete in can see where people are playing. Turns out there is a "Most Active" sort option now, but it appears to be... the same as the standard sort. :(

I've almost always played my own things at my own pace and have rarely competed with someone concurrently because of my temper. I might be sticking with Burnout for a bit until I can put my name across all of them.

If SIOTS was still around, there would still be some fun competition to see.

The problem is with some games as that people have really pushed some of these games to their limit which reduces competition unless there was a tournament or someone that doesn't care what position their score is in.

If we focus more on what we have currently instead of what tg hasn't done or will do or won't do, we can probably have more fun with this. Sure the bugs this site has are constant but there are things we can focus on that the site has still that would keep us entertained. At least the submission queue works for the most part.

I'm not gonna lie, this question is actually heavy on my mind, and even bothering me...

Arm has honestly been bummed out, I know I whine a lot, but is always at least a real "ow" going on when I mention it.

I don't have anything in the sub queue, I don't think I've subbed since before Christmas.

Got new music equipment, was just intended as an occasional distraction but I seem to pick up the guitar more than a controller anymore, TBH. Surprise to some, mebbe, but I'm metal(METAL)on electric guitar, overdoing it is prolly the problem w/ my arm(was EMU Dragster 5.57 last time...).

My standing goal had been 1000 TG W/R's, but when Rodrigo's scores were erased that was handed to me, and frankly it sucked, didn't feel like I earned it at all.

I suppose I could/should start playing MAME, go ahead and take the top ESI spot(people that know me, know me, I'm NOT terribly confident, but I'm quite sure I could pull that off).

I'd like to continue to be involved in encouraging new members to push themselves to "have fun" here, but we don't really seem to get as many new, enthusiastic members as we used to.

I'm not terribly competitive, but I do see where several of my #1 spots might be challenged this year, Voodoo and 'Sid are both excellent competitors on systems I play, it might be fun to try to keep up with them, but again, I'm not really competitive, would only do it if it was "fun".

A very small part of me is worried I'm done, but I kinda think we all know better than that.

    :)

i've decided i am going for all the smurf records on coleco after all as wel as montezuma revenge

to the converation of active players i think about this alot. to some degree its just part of retro gmaing and why you can never truly relive the past. back in the day when it was current we were all playing it and i miss that. on the flip side, sometimes i purposely seek out an old record cause i figure a record that stood that long, if i can break it, will probalby continue to stand. so for competion theres something to say to waiting for the scores to stabilize, people arent sand bagging but its the same net result they keep on improving, theres some benefit to wait till everyone has peaked then deal with that. from a fun point of view though, you cannot have more fun the concurrent play

One of my goals is to have less than 100 scores that aren't 1st place.

    I would like to:

reclaim my 7800 Donkey Kong 1st place spot.

Score 300k on arcade Donkey Kong.

Get better at Fix It Felix arcade.

add a few Atari 2600 and 7800 tracks for games purchases on atariage.

score 500k or more on Berzerk for 2600.

score 1 million on Robotron for the 7800.

find the time to score a million points on asteroids atari 2600.

do more drunk atari videos but post them to youtube.

Discover a few new favorite games

take down the Dr Mario arcade score

    This place is fun.

Overall just to improve and get better....hitting the 5.57 on dragster would be nice also!!

Maybe dust-off the NES and PS3 and start submitting for those systems down the road as well.

Try and sub more, although it's always dependent on what I'm playing at the time.

Clean up the arcade platform. There are a number of scores that require some heavy investigation before a dispute can be justified (I dont like just starting them on a hunch)

Overall I think TG has become a more positive place in recent times, but we still have a long way to go. More constructive conversation is definitely on my list.

I asked a similar question on my last show. I was asked as well by a few viewers & answered that one goal was to get the Sega Genesis Tetris record here. (TG only has the NTSC track: I beat the score on emulation.) But that ended up taking a back seat to the #RiverRaidRevolution. I'll get back to that version of Tetris at some point & grind it out again.

RTM REPLY - good luck on "Monty"...I might have to take out a "bounty" on that one if they can get that section of the site created sooner rather than later. I was never able to complete the 8th level on that game for the Atari/CV dual-deca event so I never learned if the 9th level is final, if it repeats, or if it reverts back to level 1 again.

I have an inkling of a start of a idea for something I'd like to do this year but work and life are already chipping away at it. So we'll see.
