New Rotatable PC Monitor!

I did a bit of research and for the value, this monitor seemed the best choice. It's a Dell model # U2414H 23.8” inch LED screen; It's able to rotate 90 degrees in either direction. It has very low response time (8ms) and I'm really liking it so far.

Gave 1942 a few games and I'm already getting higher scores than before I switched monitors (but not as good as my arcade scores, yet).

Still need more time with it, but it looks like a keeper!

Almost forgot, the colors are off because my nighttime eye-strain program (f.lux) is running - nothing to do with the monitor!

Congratulations on the new monitor. I have a Lenovo Thinkvision LT2423 24" monitor that also rotates. Really great picture and low response time of only 5ms.

I stuffed it in the closet though as I don't have room for a dedicated setup. I do use it as a travel monitor though when I go to retrogaming meetups. Usually use it with my Xbox 360 and my collection of CAVE shooters.

Looking forward to seeing you improve on your scores.

Looking good. Is this for your PC or your supergun?

    This was years ago:

The two monitors aren't synched up, btw, tho there is a program that would allow for it.
I REALLY liked playing like this, but it was a pain to do anything else, didn't keep it set up too long.

Right now, its only hooked up to my pc. I could run arcade boards to it from the supergun, but that would require using the framemeister since the monitor has only hdmi and display port inputs...Might have to do that soon, as I've got a couple vertical arcade boards that haven't seen much use!

I've noticed usually pics posted after the initial post on wall posts don't always show up.
Thinking, I'll put it up somewhere in a bit.

Sweet... I hope it helps you get higher scores, and this is definitely a nice experiment.

On a side note: I have to wonder if the gamer here with the handle ExedExes is a game developer that worked on these games back in the day?
Perhaps just a fan of the games that have that handle in the default high scores, but I have noticed it in more than one game and every time I see it I think of the gamer here with that handle.

I suspect it meaning something more than the name of the 1985 release of "Exed Exes", since games such as the one shown from 1984 suggest its use prior to the game using it as a title.
I guess I should contact Capcom to get to the bottom of this and free my mind from this curiosity, but perhaps someone here knows and can enlighten us.

That ExedExes name sounds familiar? Maybe he hangs out at shmups.com?

I found an older picture of my Lenovo monitor in action

It makes a world of difference. Now try playing one of the pinball games this way. Depending on the game, you can manipulate the camera angle to give you a full top-down view. I did it on a 42 inch screen that I laid on a table as an experiment. Was amazing.

The next big thing for me will be playing Pinball Arcade using VR. Exciting times!!
