Changes in Adjudication Needed

Submission Que is at 111 Pages 1,658 Video Game Submissions Last July 2107 it was 750

My Recommendation is to Have Oldest Video Game Submission First then having the Newest Last.

But Telling Twin Galaxy Members to Help Rid The Submission Que of the Older Video Game Submissions
First Make a Rule that they Have to do a Certain Amount.
We Need Input & Ideas from Twin Galaxy Members to Help Solve the Problem

It Has Gotten were Twin Galaxy Members are only Worried about Their Video Game Submissions Getting Voted On Expecting Express to Raising Their ESI Expert Skill Index on Different Platforms being First, Having the Most World Records it is a Frenzy Now. Mostly Classic Arcade & Console Games & MAME are the Only Ones Being Adjudicated Now Plus Voting On Their Friends which is Understandible.

But Ignoring to Adjudciate Video Game Submissions Like Speed Run Which Needs to be Address help from Andrew and The Speedrun Community Can Solve That, H1Z1 and Modern Video Games

@admin staff , @Jace Hall @David Hawksett, @Sincerely Franny Please Check On the Stats on Which Types of Video Games & Platforms are Being Adjudicated the Most that will Greatly Help you Guys Gauge and Adjust Accordingly.

I agree, sort by oldest to newest also maybe make it so a member can only "bump" their own submission once a day.

I wish we could get a statement from TG about why the submission queue has become so large. Are there fewer people voting? An increase in votes required on submissions? A lower average credibility of the people who are voting? More submissions in general?

I don't think we can make any real valuable recommendations until we understand more about what's happening.

When sometimes an unclear interpretation of a rule comes up or useless setting wasn't changed that has no effect on a run/attempt it makes people not vote either way and the score sits stagnet. I don't have an answer for the problem with the way the current format of the site is but maybe if no one is voting on a score for a set amount time then remove it with no ding in cred or sub point. I quit voting on speedruns months ago after i noticed there was always disagreements on the final time.

First off, as the member who's gotten the most successful adjudications completed (obviously not by myself, as evidenced by my submission points count), I really don't like Juan speaking for I and others. It's clear he gets overwhelmed by what he says and what he sees, but won't admit to it. He should really take some breaks from this place. Myself, I've been kinda forced to not participate as much, ever since taking on two jobs since late October.

That said, I'm disappointed by the lack of adjudications here, coupled with the mass slew of constant submissions. If you're not going to do your part to submit AND adjudicate others' submissions and have them return the favor, I don't think you should be complaining. As for the numbers constantly rising, that's inevitable. I for one don't plan to be a statistic for one too many submissions sitting idle in the queue, but then, I don't plan to submit a crap ton either. I'll get to things when I do. Juan need not worry, because I and perhaps majority of Twin Galaxies members are convinced he'll never submit anything, and just constantly boasts his "expertise" and achievements, without any evidence whatsoever. Lastly, people submitting timed runs here, really should take an example from the speed runs community and sync a timer with their attempts, as that community does during live streams.

Anywho, hope everyone has a great weekend!

an idea that i had to maybe shorten the que a bit was that if one run qualified you for multiple records, like say individual stage records, and an overall point total record for instance, have the sytem set up so that those records could all be submitted and adjudicated at the same time. it would save submission points for the people posting, and it would save people adjudicating from having to watch the same submission video four or five times, so it seems to me like nearly everyone would benefit.

whenever I submit a run that the above applies to, I mention it in the submission. If someone is going to watch the run, they can just watch for the other record and then approve both...nominees to watch the same video twice. I think others have done the same in the past.

i have seen that in the comments section on several submissions, and what you're suggesting is smart in that it keeps people from watching the same video multiple times, but it still means that a lot of people have multiple submissions in the que from the same run, so that if there was a way to bundle those submissions together, the que would get shorter. I'm just suggesting it because it seems like a fairly simple step. just change the poll from "Is this score valid?" to "Are these scores valid?"

Over 600 submissions for Angry Birds and Hyrule Legends combined..

23% of the queue is Hyrule Legends. Nobody's got time for that :P

We Need to Find the Best Way to Solve the Adjudication of Video Game Submissions

Like I Said Before in July 2017 their was Only 750 Video Game Submissions

I predicted this Years Ago. It will be 2,000 Video Game Submissions in the Que by 2nd or 3rd Week Week of March 2018.

It not Going to Change Unless Twin Galaxy Changes Voting Formula, Shows what Votes Are Needed and Put a Date on How Long be in the Que will Help.

By Having the Oldest Video Games That are Still in the Que Voted First at the Top the Beginning as To get them Out and Not Clutter Submission Que and Any New Video Game Submission on the Last Page

It May Come to Twin Galaxy Making Mandatory Rule that Members Adjudicate the Older Video Game Submissions to get them out.

    It's a minefield right now.
So many submissions. I've adjudicated 50 today, but it seems futile.
I vote on a few games, I get notified they went through a few days later, while I have entries coming up to 3 months old, now, still in the pipe.
You just gotta be patient, but then it seems I'm so far down the list, nobody ever sees them. Ever.
So JJT's suggestion sounds good to me!! :)

The less whining you people indulge in, the more voting you'll be able to do. Even if the queue stretches to three thousand strong, who cares? Adjudication is mostly a chore, and that is not going to change

In honestly doesn't worry me that much, the queue was up to 111 pages last weekend, and I think dropped down into the mid 90's a when slew of scores were accepted. As of right now, we are down to 108 pages or 1614 active submissions.

Of those 1614 we have, and take some of these figures with a grain of salt because I haven't 100% checked them:

227 Angry Birds scores (14% of scores) - the oldest of which is only just over 1 month
385 Hyrule Warriors Legends (24% of scores) - the oldest of which is coming up on 2 months

Now out of the two above games, I'll guarantee the Angry Birds ones will clear quicker, because it is generally more well known game and one that people would be familiar with and therefore more chance of adjudicating. Hyrule on the otherhand, well many of those scores are already mid way down in the list with very few views and I can see them getting stuck in the queue for a long time meaning the overall queue will get bigger before we see it get smaller.

Point being, when the Hyrule scores eventually all become among the oldest in the queue, is it fair to expect people to review them just because they are old? If every other score in the queue was magically adjudicated upon right now, and only Hyrule remained, I doubt they'd get through much faster because I'm guessing a lot of people are like myself, and they will only watch and adjudicate on games they feeling comfortable that they can add some knowledge too - well, that's how it's supposed to work anyway.

Don't stress it people - if there are 500 pages or 5 pages of score submissions, does it really matter? Legitimate scores will eventually go through and it's not as if we as players are needing these scores to go through so that we can list them on a Resume for an upcoming CEO position we are applying for.

I stopped voting months ago, I come back on this site every now and then but the problem is a lot of the high-credibility voters don't vote anymore. We've left or just disappeared. I know my credibility wasn't super high but it was high enough to leave an impact. Also Johnny, I live in San Marcos; nobody knows who you are. I do however know what a sentence is and that, my friend, is a priceless tool.

I mostly agree with you on this.

One problem I think doesn't get dealt with that needs to be is how the enormous queue effects new members. A new person comes on, is excited to submit, adjudicates, does their records properly, submits their scores and then has to wait for months. It's not a great system. It's fine for folks who were part of TG back when we sent in tapes because that's how long it takes. It's fine for folks who joined up when adjudication was much quicker, because they have experienced the process running smoothly. But it's harder when you want to be part of the community and you see it taking months for a 5-10 minute submission.

We have some newer folks who have mentioned the exact same thing above. If we want to keep new folks and attract people for more than one submission there are a lot of parts of the new member process that will have to change (and the queue length is one of them).

TG needs to increase the price/submission points to submit. That's all balance the economy. Because of the Angry Birds, etc, short tracks creations.

When are we gonna start tracking Super Mario Bros for NES by level? Come on guys ;)
    1-1 points
    1-1 time left
    1-2 points
    1-2 time left.
