Why would anybody from Twin Galaxy challenge you live? when the sole porpuose of this page is to submit your scores so that anybody in the world can compete against you without having to be in the same place.

To me this is one more excuse to not submit your scores because you are scared or you are a liar.

if you want to challenge twin galaxy members you are now free to do so. the tracks are here. if all you care about is some local arcade that noone knows or cares about, good for you, but you didnt need to create those tracks for your local arcade. you made the tracks here, now challenge people here.

  4. Blackflag82's Avatar

JJT, I expect that if you submitted without having the machine opened up, your score would pass (or at least not be held up as a result of that), so literally all you have to do is take you phone, record yourself playing one track and submit the time...that's it. you can do it tomorrow in less than 15 minutes.

it's time to put up or shut up

It feels like for 3 years we have been hearing about how good you are at Fast and the Furious Super Cars. All the evidence you have provided is so overwhelming how in the hell could any of us argue? Can we now take a break from hearing about this game for 3 years??? That would be awesome. Just submit to the damn game man. Really tired of hearing about it.

Hey, did I ever tell you guys of the times I slept with Heidi Klum??? 6 times, in 32 different cities, all across the world. Didn't even have a passport that's how awesome I am at it. Yep, that math doesn't add up, but who gives a ****. I've proved all the evidence I needed to in the previous few sentences.

Almost forgot to mention, congrats on beating the best players in those cities. Obviously only those specific cities have the absolute best at Fast and Furious Super Cars....../Super Cars. Submit. My god just submit. Please, for the love of god, just stop talking about the game and submit. Just stop posting about it. Please. Pretty please, show us some mercy and give this topic a rest. Just submit. Go to one of those arcades, video tape the damn thing, and then submit it.

I just found a video of the current World Record holder of the Switzerland track. His name is little Chad and he is about 5 years old and have beaten JJT in that track. He missed a few seconds at the start because he was yelling for his daddy but he still did it, what a pro.

I have been trying to convince him to submit to Twin Galaxy but he says he is too busy with kindergarten stuff.

Juan, outside of the antics of Roy Shildt issuing "challenges" to Tony Temple, or someone not believing that a gamer was capable of pulling off a claimed score...such as when people questioned whether Abdner could get 1M+ on "Junior Pacman" way back in 2000/2001 at ACAM..."challenges" are rare enough, but in-person challenges are rarer still.

Don't take it personally...today is a much different climate of gamers than 30-35 years ago. The "wild west" days of gaming are over, and self-proclaimed "arcade sheriffs" who make it a point to show up at the home of a gamer and challenge the integrity of their score, are long-since gone along with ECM submissions to TG.

RTM REPLY - 5 years old and a record holder ? Sounds a lot like the fictional "Tommy Doyle" !!

    And with that...here's an oldie-but-a-goodie...

This is the story I posted on the TG website way, way back in June, 2004. I hope you enjoy.

    MAJOR NEWSFLASH !!

    Hello fellow gamers:
Over the past twenty plus years, Twin Galaxies, it's players and officials, had seen and heard of more world record breaking attempts than you could imagine. But never...EVER...did we encounter the following stellar performances.

Recently, I had the distinct pleasure of talking with a gentleman who is quite possiby the world's greatest gamer. EVER. No questions asked.

I report..."At first I could not believe my ears...a report of a person who had scored 7.5 MILLION on 'Galaxian', 2.71 MILLION on 'Make Trax', a score of over 9 MILLION on the ultra hard game 'Millipede', and a highly respectable though not quite world record of 918,740 on 'Ms Pacman'...and that was just for starters.

Tommy's achievements have been meticulously documented over the years. unlike most gamers, as he had the foresight to log witnesses and take pictures.

Tommy Doyle, now age 24 and perhaps the world's greatest gamer, contacted me over the phone today...with verifiable proof of his claims.

According to eyewitnesses, back in 1981, Tommy was astounding, shooting down "Galaxian" enemies left and right. He broke 800K on his 1st ship, that in itself a record.

I spoke to the eyewitness and asked how Tommy, who was then all of 2 years old at the time, could have amassed such a score. "Daddy", which was the name Tommy provided and who happened to share the same last name of Doyle, spoke with me over the phone.

"Tommy was incredible. I'd never seen anything like it. We were, my wife and I (another eyewitness) were taking young Tommy for a stroll and he awoke from a sleep after hearing the sounds of an arcade machine. There was apparently an extra credit inside, and Tommy was standing up, bottle in hand. He appeared intrigued by the game, and we decided to see how he would react if we pressed the start button. Tommy dropped the bottle and before we knew it, he was firing like a bandit, shooting down enemies left and right, as if he had done this for years !!"

Next we discussed how Tommy managed to set so many records, over 15,000 in all, while still in grammer school. His mom fielded that one.

"Tommy always was a bright boy, and even learned how to walk before he was able to eat !! He played games constantly, using an excuse of a weak bladder to hop out the school window and run to an arcade for a few quick minutes of a game, then back in and never missed a beat. That one always fooled the teachers."

"But he was so smart that he was skipped from 1st to 12th grade in one year. Tommy decided that there was money to be earned in gaming, and fame and fortune, so he decided to not pursue further education and parlay his natural talents into a fortune, and show the world how good he could be".

So, as it was explained to me by a third witness, Tommy's great grandma Ethel, who although she admittedly "can't see nuttin' good", she was at least around whenever little Tommy wanted to go to the arcades. He was three years old at the time, and already an old pro.

Grandma Ethel told me..."Little Tommy...bless 'im...didn't matter what the game was...Space Invaders, Pac Man, Asteroids...he took to them all. His only problem was being too short to reach the control panel. Well, that and the fact that he had no money. But Tommy was a hustler of video games, perhaps the world's first. It wasn't enough, though, to fuel his hobby. He had already amassed over 2,000 world records including an awesome 125 million on 'Missile Command', which was tough enough let alone if you are three years old and the track ball is bigger than both your hands !!"

So, as I heard, little Tommy, almost 4 years of age, decided to go big time. He wrote a book...albeit with multiple typos, spelling errors, and in crayon as he was still but four years of age...on how to beat the various most popular games of the era.

Tommy's biggest seller was a "How to Beat Pacman", which he said sold over 30 million copies, and was the 2nd greatest moment in his gaming career, which by now was 2 years long, half his life in actuality.

Tommy indicated that the secret to the book was how he beat the 256th stage. "It was really quite simple", Tommy told me. If you hold a magnet against the machine language and bent the graphics the right way, you opened up a secret tunnel which returned you to the very 1st stage !! The ghosts were blue again, and I also got another extra man. Not that I needed it, mind you, but it didn't hurt".

Being the only person in the world to have known about this trick thus far, Tommy consulted with the original programmers, who were astounded at how a now five year old could have manipulated the program in such a way that the absolute end was beaten. "Incredible !!" said the lead programmer. "Astounding" said others. Ronald Reagan himself heard word of this and offered to send Tommy to head up the FBI who needs bright men and women, in recognition of his talents, but Tommy would not have that. He knew that he could make far more money and fame with his gaming efforts, so he at least accepted the Civilian Cross, the highest honour that they could make up to give a private citizen at the time. Tommy's parents were so proud.

Mrs Doyle recounts that the award made Tommy even more determined to continue and score even higher. She recalls a fateful day when Tommy received a call from a most serious player challenging his score. Apparently, word reached the Florida area where some of Tommy's biggest competitors were.

She explained to the individual, who called daily, that Tommy was in the middle of a marathon on this game or that, but the person just would not understand. Eventually, times coincided, and Tommy explained his secret Pacman tactic to reach the last stage. But this time, another individual was on the phone. Mr Walter Day, who had founded a year or two back a sort of video game scoreboard.

Mr Day, and the serious gamer who Tommy later knew was named "William" or "Billy", offered to come out to visit him at their own expense to document this footage.

Tommy was now six, and had racked up about 15,000 world records by now, all documented by his father, mother, great grandma Ethel, and even a trained parrot named "Woodrow". Tommy had all the ammo at his disposal just waiting for the TG people to arrive. He would present not just his secret Pacman technique, but all the rest.

Walter and Billy (yes, Tommy remembers his name now) arrived, with a video camera and film crew behind. They interviewed Tommy, and although stunned that he was six, gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Tommy explained how he had amassed proof of 15,000 video game world records since he was two years old. When asked how he accomplished a world record on "Rolling Thunder", a game still in development, Tommy simply said "Because I'm THAT good !!". Same went for a game called "Star Wars Trilogy", even though the game, let alone the movies, hadn't been invented yet.

Next, they asked Tommy to explain how in four years he played 15,000 video games to world record levels. Billy asked, clearly wanting to expose this child as a faker..."If you played for four years, that's about 1,460 days. How the h...", and Tommy's dad quickly told Billy told him to watch his cussin' as Tommy was only six. Billy apologized and rephrased..."How the heck did you set an average of 10 world records per day, some of which take over 12 hours to play, or even a day or more ?"

Tommy told me that he told Billy how he mastered playing two games at the same time. But Billy and Walter were starting to suspect something now. Walter piped in..."Tommy, you're only six, and back then you were two. How did you even REACH the controls of both games at once, let alone play them ?"

As logical as that argument was, Billy was clearly more interested in Pacman. He interrupted and said "Walter, forget that...I wanna see how he cracked the Pacman 256th stage !!"

Tommy told me that he was ready to show his tactic. With dad, mom, and the parrot nearby as witnesses, as they had been before, he unveiled a garage full of more machines that even Walter and Billy had ever seen at once. "Ulp", Tommy said he heard Billy utter...and said that perhaps Billy, at this time, was getting nervous that he was the real deal.

Tommy turned on the Pacman machine and started to play, but his Playschool toddler stool broke and Tommy fell off before the 1st stage even ended, and Tommy broke his arms...both of them, and couldn't continue.

His dad explained further. "Billy and Walter were both furious. They had come so far only to see this happen, and poor little Tommy was crying to himself that he could not prove his talents in front of these men."

"When Tommy came back from the hospital, the doctor said that Tommy had sustained a serious injury to both arms and hands, and could no longer play video games. We told this to Billy and Mr Day, and they were clearly upset at this terrible news."

Walter Day, who at the time was the worldwide scorekeeper, insisted that as sad as it was, Twin Galaxies had set rules for verification, so much as though he heard their pleas as witnesses, and as convincing as the parrot was and great grandma Ethel, who by now though 106 years of age was quite sharp with her memories of these events, Twin Galaxies could not officially recognize Tommy's scores, but could not absolutely refute them either.

Tommy said that his 15,000...then quickly corrected himself and indicated it was more like 18,000...world record scores, would most likely never make it into the Twin Galaxies book of records. He seemed sad.

Tommy now contents himself with mastering MAME, and dreams of what once was. "Someday..." he said, and the interview ended.

well its true - at least based on the forums -- that if a teenager had an especially good score no adult could do their age alone was reason to strip it.

i dont think official records matter here as we're dealing with two people just claiming records, and a mere claim at a record i'd say is equally valid (invalid) from anyone.

I'm pretty sure you are referring to Tommy and JJT's record claims. Because I have absolutely, 100% done the deed with Heidi Klum on 6 different occasions in 32 countries...with no passport. Nope, I wrote them out the same way twice on purpose. 4 times were in a private jet spanning the globe, the other 3 times where by private yacht. See what I did there? Now it's up to 7 times. I forgot that one time. I'm sure I'll think of more of the story as I reminisce about those good ole days.

Ok, Im tired of this. You obviously love to brag about your skills without presenting any evidence at all, which I would say it's the most annoying part of your personality. And it was fun for a while but now it is just boring, repetitive and just not worth continuing this discussion, so my final comment on this is.

JJT, you are scared of submitting your scores because somebody is going to break them really easily or you are just a liar.

I am unfollowing all posts related to this nonsense and I wont be losing my time on this matter. The only action I would be taking is to submit scores to this game if/when I find an arcade near me.
