Usually controversy and egomania over triviality.

I'm not sure John & William fit the criteria or fit with the listed individuals.

It depends on what you are talking about....

A video game celebrity is too broad. A Twin Galaxies celebrity would be different than a Twitch celebrity or a League of Legends celebrity or a Street Fighter celebrity.

By definition, a celebrity is a person who is celebrated. So, in my opinion, a Twin Galaxies celebrity doesn't necessarily need to relate to a WR count, but the value and prestige surrounding their achievements or overall contributions.

I dont even need to play video games to have "celebrity status".

Ever since my "Pawn Stars" appearance, I have paparazzi camped out by the front gate by the new Beverly Hills mansion, then following me in my limo everywhere I go. Also, I am getting tired of autographing all the fan mail I receive, (had to hire an assistant to forge my signature) Not to mention all the greedy lawyers, taking away millions of dollars away from me and my entourage!

I want my normal life back ASAP!

Is it better to be famous, or infamous? Loved or feared? Rich, or powerful?

I like *pretending* to be a villain, but people who know the real me understand that I am a lovable due who cheers for underdogs, loves to help others and is an all around good sport.

I love photographing the video game community so that when they need to put in an article or printed on a trading card they have an excellent photo to go with them.

I archive and preserve history as it unfolds. That is my gift.

I agree with the previous comments; Although recognition is satisfying, I reckon you don't need to be a celebrity to get the best out of the gaming community.

I went in with the same mindset; 'Maybe if I become the best at video games, people will love and respect me.' That's a big gamble on both enjoyment and self esteem. I believe in humble confidence, myself: Feel free to share in your accomplishments every once in a while, but let the praise come naturally.

For instance, I like to share with my local mates when I win another Nintendo Switch from my local arcades/amusements, that way I can sell one to a friend for cheaper than retail price. It's always funny when your mates come over, with mouths wide open in shock, when they see that giant heap of tickets next to you!

I like to share high scores on here, because it's satisfying when you hit a new record. It's kinda fun challenging yourself, to see how many records you can stack up.

Although I'm not bothered about being a celebrity, I imagine if I came up on a Walter Day Trading card, it'd be something to share with any next of kin!

so many good comments here. a big frustration of mine has been i've seen a lot of people ruin their lives over the idea that playing games that noone else cares about will make the rich and famous. granted, their responsible for their actions, and lets face it, anyone who can be tricked into thinking such things wasnt all there to begin with. even still, i do have sympathy for people being misled, even if they should no better.

its great to see competition being about the games and not the people. note: tg can still be about the people, its great to make friends over games. friendship comes from shared experience, so in that sense, sure make it about hte people. but not necessarily who has a high score, just whos fun to talk to the game about. as for the score chasing about, thats what should be about the game, you should be chasing the score cause you enjoy the game and maybe enjoy playing it with others, scores are not a status symbol.
