TG members your input Here is how I would create my modern arcade game tracks

I had months of reviewing all 57 modern arcade games I JJT am great at,this is perfect. Here is how I would create my modern arcade game tracks

1. Solo ,Factory/Default Settings
2. A player does not have to show internals but must show enough peripherals like control panel, peddles & cabinet that is a arcade game.
3. No cheats, no glitches, no altering of the games programming, no wall riding,no simulators, no clipping of huge portions of the game and I will explain what they are and how they are done.
Almost all modern arcade games do not even have game settings to see or set in the first place. Because I was a Arcade game attendant and had friends that were at Main Event, Dave and Busters and Austin pizza Amusement park.
You can check online on them. The Time Crisis series 4,5 Razing Storm do, House of the Dead 3,4,5 do, Note Cruisin Blast does not . They are just software pre programmed games.

The only thing that would change in the rules would be the different cheats & glitches.

It is not like the rules for Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda , Speed run games or any of the GWR games.

Then just create it already. Everyone else can, why cant you?

What about clipping of "not so huge" portions of the game? Are small portions allowed? What the player accidentally clips just a few pixels off the track?

Are you allowed to cut corners?

No cheats: agree. Don't even know what they would be, but assuming cheats exist, agree

No glitches: why? This seems like a case by case thing. Often agreeing what *is* a glitch is debatable. Like I said, is the Pac-Man kill screen a glitch?

No altering of the games program. Agree. Seems like the mother of all cheating. ***Unless it can be done purely by natural input*** then I don't know, case-by-case. Those are very rare, I'd doubt they'd exist in a useful way in a modern game.

No wall riding: why? I'm genuinely curious, do you have a reason BESIDES "I personally view it as unfair" or "it's not personally the way I play?"

rules not terrible. The 'no glitches' rule isnt needed as thats already a rule by default and just adds clutter. Also if you plan to add to it i of course cant give input on any of the additions without seeing them.

Wow... Didnt know that. You should ask Admin for help then. Contact Miss Franny. She is very helpful in creating new tracks.

Are you sure about that? From what I understand all you have to do is acknowledge your mistakes, apologize to Franny for being incredibly rude and disrespectful to her and then ask to be re-instated.

SURELY after all this time you have apologized and taken ownership of your mistakes.

Remember that time a year ago that I was banned for a week for being "grumpy"? A week later I was unbanned. Being banned without knowing how long it will be seems to be a violation of your constitutional rights. Just kidding. Seriously though. Apologize.

3 games come to mind that glitches can be used to a players advantage and their are others games to. I figured these glitches and cheats in first month when they first came out playing them.

    1. Winter X games Sno Cross Takedown Glitch A player can get a max lowest time 00:00 I JJT done it on all 7 tracks 00:00

2, Cruisin Blast 1, 2 player a player can get 20 to 40 seconds final race times on all the tracks I have gotten under 40 seconds

    3. Fast and the Furious, FFSC Mega turbo Boost off objects you see 900mph multiple times. Players can get final race times lower than 1 minute to less than 10 seconds

actually there is a problem with saying "factory settings" without knowing what those settings are. when tg says default or factory they also specify what those settings are and mean. "default" is fine as a general rule but on specific games its best to tell people what the default is so adjudciators dont have to research

    All modern games have settings:

    - payout in tokens / tickets

    - players per game

    - tokens or coins to play

I have played Space Invaders Frenzy (or whatever it is called) in multiple locations. Ticket redeption games are way harder than the ones that don't.

90% + of Twin Galaxies games have just Default Factory normal. Modern arcade games are just pre-programmed games software yes they have game menu, but they can altered and changed especially if someone owns one. That is why it would be a good policy to show the internals for player and their friends to show the internals that it is not a emulator.

I will know if the game was altered immediately, played them and helped fix them.

I have adjudicated more than 24,000 video game submissions. The majority of Twin Galaxies members do not care what they are ,they just vote and move on. None even bother to check.

I created wall for What is the Default/ Factory settings.

Speaking on what I know by seeing the modern arcade games internls & game screen menu almost all do not even have difficulty game settings that effect game play to set or see in the first place, just cosmetic basic mph km

Some do like House of the Dead 3,4,5, Time Crissi 4,5 Razing storm, Fast and Furious, FF drift, FF super Cars have game settings. The others do not, just one had game speed adjustment, others had mislenous settings that had no effect on the game play just cosmetic like mph, km steering wheel adjusting, audience sound etc.

Their are 2 settings one for tickets and 1 for playing their are 100 stages then the game ends evry 5 their is a bonus round

This game have no game difficulty settings

I consider them cosmetic game settings, none of them effect game play

if you view them as cosmetic and users choice then you could say its about to the user. default means default. if you dont mean default though, and you mean it doesnt matter then that should be specified.

i'm not as familiar with fast and furious as you. any settings that you care about should be specific, and then you can addd something like "all other settings are users choice"

You are talking Semantics here 1 is to win tickets 1 life I had scores 100k a few times the other is to Arcade mode their are stages still no difficulty settings

The other difference is 1 life to star game and 3 to start arcade mode.

Juan you have to examine every game one by one before making a track for it. The idea of just a generic set of rules for all of them is ridiculous.

If you want any kind of support on this, I recommend you choose 1 tittle, post the manuals of the game here along with your rules and then we can go from there.

1 game at a time is the only way I support track creation.

semantics are very important for rules. people miscommunicate all the time. the more important the words the more important it is to get the semantics right to avoid confusion. like you i'm sloppy in my regular talk, any miscommuncation can be cleaned up as the discussion progresses. for tracks though you need to care about details

I know you are a big fan of using copy and paste... However, when you are creating tracks you can't always just copy and paste a static set of rules for every game.

Yes, in the past a large majority of the games only listed "Default Settings" as their ruleset, but I feel like modern arcade games have more complexity to them that require more detailed attention.

Please do your research on each specific game before you think of putting up/suggesting a new track.

I have some more questions. These unlockable cars: are they just skins or do they perform better and how are they unlocked i.e. would any player be able to easily, conveniently unlock them without spending lots of money?

I done my research on the games I have played thouroughly over past 3 years , and my 17 year playing experience on modern arcade games and I was a game tech and knew the mangers, game tech managers & techs at many arcades like Main event, Pinballz, Dave & Busters, Austin Pizza amusement park who were my friends and saw the internals of each game and the Menu settings.

Classic arcade games are more complicated & have more to see namely PCB dip switch game settings control panel, joystick, buttons Donkey Kong, PCB Pac-Man, Galaga etc.

Moderen arcade games are simpler & mostly software game programmings now, with no dip switch difficulty game settings to see or set and no difficulty game menu, just general game settings like settings only modes ticket or arcade for Space Invaders Frenzy, Mph Km, croad noise, languages, nothing that would effect the game play.

Obvisiously you know nothing about modern arcade games they are straight forward they are just simple software game programs with no difficulty game setting to change the game.

Here are some that do have Difficulty game settings

    1. Fast and the Furious

    2. FF Tokyo Drift

    3. FF Super Cars

    4. House of the Dead 3

    5. HOD 4

    6. HOD Scarlet Dawn

    7. Time Crisis 3

    8. Time Crisis 4

    9. TC 5

    10. Razing Storm
