Paul Dean can U submit a recorded 4.5 million Spy Hunter to Twin Galaxies it is Free.

1. Paul Dean why have you not submitted a Spy Hunter 4.5 million score to Twin Galaxies since Jace Hall took over since 2015? Then you can put a rest to all your critics saying it is impossible to to score 9.7 million points and used a Bug/Glitch to achieve it. Shut them up, unless their is a secret that you do not want your competitors to know about their is no?you are not losing money. Then WHY not Submit to Twin Galaxies.

Paul Dean played 12 hours for his wr, check out the link to the classicarcadegaming.com it on a forum their he explains everything.

The only question I have why Paul Dean has not submitted video game recording at least 4.5 million points all these years since 1985, only playing at California Extreme event.
If Paul Dean can submit and upload a complete video recording of a 4.5 million points on the Spy Hunter arcade either on sit down or stand up game to TWIN GALAXIES

1. Paul Dean this would put to a rest to all the false accusations, critics saying it is impossible to score 9.5 million points on Spy Hunter on only 7 lives in 12 hours.
It takes a lot of skill play Spy Hunter to drive, shift gears, accelerate, braking for that length time 12 hours. Physically it would be really hard, also, on only 7 lives and to survive & sustain skill and precision, that is really hard to do and score 9.5 million points.

2. Unless Paul Dean does not want anyone to know of a special easy strategy and routes to his competition. It is not a easy game to play.

3. Hopefully Paul Dean did not use a game Bug or Glitch that can exploit the game like the one on the bridge were your immune to getting hit but can rack up a easy million of points safely.
Maybe their are other Glitches and Bugs in the game. That no one knows about

4. Paul Dean submit a 4.5 million point a video recording to Twin Galaxies so to put rest to all these false accusations and make critics eat crow.

    How would a 4.5 million score prove a 9million score. 4.5 only proves 4.5

im also curious what has created this new obsession with Paul. Has there been some new news I don’t know about

Paul Dean the reasons he would not submit a Million point plus game to Twin Galaxies, 1985 36 years ago.

    1. He has a medical handicap were upon he cannot possiblity of playing the arcade game Spy Hunter, then my humble apologies to Paul Dean and my prayers go out to him and his family.

    2. He does not trust Twin Galaxies site, members & adjudication process with rules that govern each game and having to record a complete game play, game settings, and showing hardware like PCB,CPU,ROM's, dip switch game settings, or in game settings.

    3. He knows certain Spy Hunter secrets, tactics, routes that no one knows about that he does not want his fellow competitors to know about. Similar to Donald Hayes on arcade game Dig Dug a few years ago.

    4. Hopefully no bugs/glitches but I doubt that he use them. He knows about them and has thorough knowledge of the arcade game Spy Hunter.

But seeing is believing, and Twin Galaxies is free to join and submit video game recording of his masterful game play on Spy Hunter and at the same time shut up all his critics.

He is also great at Frenzy to and has a thorough knowledge of Spy Hunter.

There is NO Beta,VHS tapes, DVD,YouTube,Twitter,or any recording of a complete game play on the arcade game Spy Hunter by Paul Dean in 36 years.

36 years have past with NO complete video game recording of any kind or any where. Yes he is not in no way Billy Mitchell or Todd Rogers.

36 years ago Paul Dean set the world record of 9.5 Million points on arcade racing game Spy Hunter but yet no recording. just playing at California Extreme event .

Spy Hunter Paul Dean does not have to score 4.5 or 9 million points plus but at least score 1.25 million that should be really easy if he is healthy , whether it be on the 1985 wr 9.5 million point on the sit down or Stand up Spy Hunter arcade racing game.:

    9,512,590

Twin Galaxies is free to join, and submit. Since Jace own Twin Galaxies since ? 2015 were a complete video game recording of a player record performance is required now and can be safely kept in in Twin Galaxies Scoreboard Database archives for years to come.

Unless Paul Dean has a medical condition now and he cannot play the arcade racing game Spy Hunter, then my humble sincere apologies & prayers go to Paul Dean and his family and friends may be God be in their hearts and souls.

If Paul Dean has No Health / Medical problems/ handicap that would prevent him from playing Spy Hunter.

Then why not submit a complete video game recording of 1.2 million points on the arcade racing game Spy Hunter to Twin Galaxies.

Are we going by believe he said this he saw this but that is hearsay with No Physical Evidence to back it up

similar to Todd Rogers or Billy Mitchell but in noway near that mess.

??????Then what is he hiding and what is his excuse not to submit 1.2 million points a complete video game recording of Spy Hunter to Twin Galaxies?????????????????????

It not like Pacman their is pattern you are constantly moving ,steering , shifting gears from high to low mostly high ,defending oil slick, bumping, smoke screen, attacking shooting or just avoiding enemies and taking the safest route memorising the best routes on just 7 lives the game requires a lot of skill

Unless you are using a Glitch/ Bug to take advantage of the Spy Hunter game I do the bug and got Millions of points easily then the game requires no skill to stay alive with bug to get 10 million points or more.

I'd assume this wall post is directly related to questions that the submitter of a new Spy Hunter +1million score asked regarding Paul's performance.

    See this submission thread: https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/225669-Arcade-Spy-Hunter-Points-1-151-310-Timothy-Kinkead

This instigated a conversation (including myself who was interested in knowing how the amazing score came about) into some old threads, websites links and videos regarding the Spy Hunter score.

My personal conclusion was, as long as everyone is happy with the adjudication process of the past that the score is valid until proven otherwise. There is actually no need for Paul to 'prove himself' to anyone unless he wishes too do that in a dispute or as JJT suggests, simply to prove himself and shut down the new conversation that has emerged due to this new 2nd place submission.

As my recent score submission is at the root of all this, all I'd like to say is that I hope any discussion remains civil. I know what my game was like and I play Spy Hunter pretty frequently. There were questions that I posed and I think that they are valid. But I would not accuse anyone of anything. There is a lack of primary source material about the world record score, and since the world record is so much better than everyone else's score, I can understand the skepticism by some members. If the record holder suffers from health problems, however, I'd suggest this discussion gets toned down or even stopped. In the end, it is just a video game and I'd hate to think of someone having a health incident or feeling stress over something like a high score on Spy Hunter. That would ruin the game for me if I found out that was the case.

If Paul (Mr. Dean) would like to share insights to increase understanding about how this great game works, that is cool. If he doesn't, I don't care. Plus, I may have the highest recorded score on the stand-up version...which is physically more demanding anyway. I could live with that!

Paul Dean On my 12 hour game, I can only go full speed with the pedal to the metal a partial amount of the time at certain times on straightaways usually and when it is safe. I play the game using low gear very rarely and at extreme times only when I need more time or room to navigate. Almost all of the time the gear is in high gear instead of low gear. Sometimes I will go into low gear to sweep behind the Lethal Enforcer in order to get behind it and shoot it.

USE: Constant Seesaw strategy from fastest speed to medium speed always in high gear, back and forth with the pedal. Your average speed will be much faster because you are utilizing full speed more often than if you were going at 3/4 the whole time.

    Lethal Enforcer:

Segue: I always tap the pedal to high speed when I hear the lethal enforcer loading their shotgun. This change of speed will cause the lethal enforcer to miss me when they shoot at me while they are parked on the left side of the road waiting for me to pass.

Quote from: John Lexmark on January 21, 2021, 09:25:10 PM

2.....Full speed boat isn't possible...mines kill you (is that true?)

    Water:

There are boat segments (new region) of straight away water segments where I can go full speed. There are times when no boat enemy is around and I can go full speed at this time.

Boat: Partial time full speed Seesaw strategy with gas pedal: From fast to medium back and forth always in high gear can be done in portions of the water segment. This gives me time to miss the mines (barrels) as I slow down as part of the seesaw strategy, to see the mines (barrels) and avoid them and I will not always be at the fastest speed, but instead at the seesaw speed.

Quote from: John Lexmark on January 21, 2021, 09:25:10 PM

3..... Full speed on icy roads isn't possible...too hard to control (is that true?)

Icy Roads: You can go in full speed on icy roads on the straight away only if you are playing conservatively, not on curvy icy roads because your steering is too loose. This can only be done for a very short amount of time.

    Icy Roads:

USE: This situation needs the Seesaw strategy from fast to medium back and forth in high gear.

Quote from: John Lexmark on January 21, 2021, 09:25:10 PM

4..... To generate that many extra points, you would have to oil slick everything but it runs out (is that true?)

    Oil Usage:

I can reserve my oil slick usage in different ways. I use it when I feel it is necessary.

If I am going at a good speed the cars behind me will generally "not" catch up. I conserve my oil and don’t always kill the enemy cars until I need to and I am challenged to do so by a fast car coming up from behind. (They are not all fast cars, some are slow.) If your spy hunter game gas pedal is calibrated properly you can always out run a car coming from behind you but you cannot maintain that speed constantly as it is too risky. Fire will come out of your car tailpipes when you full speed accelerate. If this does not happen this means your arcade game is not calibrated correctly for high gear and you cannot go at maximum speed which should be fixed. Many spy hunters are not calibrated correctly making your intercepter car speed too slow.

    Oil Slick:

Proper maintenance of oil slick with truck (Weapons Van) restock. You should not run out of oil slick or smoke screen very often. Generally, when the oil is out then change to smoke screen which you get three releases until you refill with the weapons van again. Lay down oil on the road less than one inch of oil slick per kill (one tap on the controller) and use it to kill two vehicles at once if possible. You can also kill two vehicles at once that are in front and behind overlapping each other, so wait for them to group, which conserves a lot more of the oil slick in reserve, again one tap oil kills.

You can also get ahead of the weapons van and use it as a shield for those cars coming up from behind you.

Quote from: John Lexmark on January 21, 2021, 09:25:10 PM

5.....He must have figured out a way to completely avoid water and ice boards (is that true?)

There are many ways to be successful on the water and ice boards (icy roads). Mentioned in #6.

Quote from: John Lexmark on January 21, 2021, 09:25:10 PM

6.....Because, really, if you die on a snow or water board, you have a really high chance of quickly getting killed again by getting run into or being killed without any oil or smoke screen moke to defend yourself. (is that true?)

I can stay in the water board for a very long time if I choose. Water is very easy for me when I am careful. It is a time to rest and regroup if needed.

    Huish Arcade:

Segue: I played a 12-hour game on a sitdown game at Huish Arcade in Upland, CA at the 3rd Annual master's tournament on June 28, 1985, for the world record, however in a question about how does one stand on one leg for a two hour or more game which I read at TG, (I played on a sit-down version.) If you only have a standup game to play on what do you do? The answer is that I “do not” stand on the same leg the whole time. I switch legs on every water board (segment) to relax my left leg which has all of my weight on it. (I can also do this on non-water boards). I do this by crossing my legs and standing on my right leg just behind my left leg, and using my left leg for the pedal. (learn to use the gas pedal with either foot).

If no sitdown spy hunter is available:

I will stay on the water board for as long as I have to in order to relieve my left leg aches which happens from putting all of my weight on one leg for too long. I do this until I am relaxed.

I can go as long as I need to go in the water segment without getting out. 60k at a stretch or more if needed. Remember you do not have to exit the water board. By just staying to the left of the screen the water board will continue as you do not have to exit to the right-hand landside at the fork split if you do not feel it is the right time. Also: You should get a sit-down spy hunter if going for the record, it’s just easier to sit down. It’s easier to sit down for a long trip than it is to stand on alternating legs rotating positions constantly with a standup spy hunter game.

    Icy Roads:

Defense on the snow board (icy roads): You choose the timing of when you get into the weapons van, there are two weapons vans per season (segment) layout. Once I summon the weapons van, I choose to only get in the weapons van when I know my car will be dropped off at the far right-hand side of the screen or as far right as possible. This way I can avoid harsh deaths in snow curvy roads and on regular curvy roads easier as I have created lead time and distance when re-entering the road. So I choose where I want to be dropped off. I Choose when to re-enter the road. I Choose the timing to re-enter the road because I don’t want to re-enter the road when there are a lot of bad guys appearing on the screen, I just wait for them to pass, then I enter the road at a safe speed. (I can’t wait too long on the side of the road as the lethal enforcer will appear.)

On the snow board (icy roads) if I happen to be out of oil and smoke screen, one safe strategy is I can stay just ahead of the weapons van who can block the way of the vehicles coming from behind. If the bad guys do get past the weapons van normally they can only come at you one at a time. There are many strategies I can do and here are a few: I can knock the weapons van into them. Also, I can kill both types of cars, the Switchblade car by hitting it above the switchblade area running it off of the road, and I can kill the bulletproof bully car by also hitting it in the same general area and running it off the road, as well as bumping into the lethal enforcer, you do this in an emergency when you don’t have other options. This is difficult because your steering is very loose on icy roads.

You can tap the weapons van to knock off the spikes of the switchblade car. You can knock one bad guy (bulletproof bully) into the other type of car, (switchblades) to get rid of their spikes. The switchblade cars are much easier to kill without spikes. You can also out run both types of cars (switchblade) & (bulletproof bully) if needed and you can out run the lethal enforcer if needed. I can summon the weapons van, and go into it which will bail me out of an outnumbered situation. I can even knock the lethal enforcer into a switchblade car.

    What about the helicopter?

The mad bomber helicopter can be your best friend when you are out of oil and smoke screen. You can basically control where it drops its bombs as it is a pattern and you can just swerve last minute after you have the helicopter lined up where you want it (patterned) and these bombs will kill off most of your enemies that are following you. You’ll notice the helicopter bombs will be dropped at regular timed intervals. (This is hard to do in curvy roads.) Not only can you control where the mad bomber helicopter bombs, you can control how often it will cycle above you and you can also control how long it will be on the screen in attack mode rather than in passive mode.

There is very little chance of me getting killed on the water board (speed boat) when done correctly:

Water board: If I do happen to lose all of my oil (which turns to fire on the water board) coming out of my speedboat tailpipes, and my smoke screen protection happens to be gone also when I am in the water I can reduce my speed so that no boats show up from ahead of me to drop down on me, and when the boats from behind me show up I let them pass me and they are easy pickings as they follow a pattern as they pass me and directly into my machine gunfire. They can bump me a little bit and it won't be a problem. They will speed ahead of me to try and drop their barrels in front of me.

I leave my machine gun on rapid-fire and the enemy boats will veer into my bullets, dying. Also, I’m going slow enough at this moment to easily go around any straggling mines (barrels) left in my way and I am in complete control of my speedboat.

If the island comes up, and I need to jump it, I go full speed to jump over the island rather than crash into it. I have to be at full speed to safely jump the island.

This last post by JJT_Defender today @ 05:22 PM seals it for me. Paul obviously knows this game to the smallest detail and is forthcoming in letting everyone know his strategies. Unless proven otherwise I have utmost confidence Paul's 1985 score is valid. I simply trust the integrity of what I've read and seen online, even though I've never seen him play.

I could compare it to Shahbaz, the king of Rygar, nobody can come close to displaying the level of skill he has displayed in MAME inp files and videos. Although I hope one day to see him do it in person (or on a video in person), I'm 100% confident he is legit otherwise proven differently.

Those strategies are mostly valid, as I used most of them (I disagree about high gear in water...you will either run in to mines left before too long or a torpedo boat will fire one up your tail pipe. You won't live long going full tilt high gear in the water.)

I think that applying said strategies for 11.5 or 12 hours (there is a contradiction in the different accounts) is the problem people will always point to. If the strategies always work, why isn't the score higher? All of the strategies above get wiped out pretty frequently (see my submitted video on how a mud puddle on a curve killed me) no matter how good you are.

And honestly, who sets out to set a world record without a Polaroid? I find that to be the most unbelievable...when I got to the end of my game, I sent pics of my score to all my friends. SInce the world record is the ultimate in narcissism, no photo or video is mind boggling to me. And the score was reported to a judge via phone. IDK.

I also think living you machine guns all the time on the waterboard will lead to you eventually wrecking into the back of a boat you shoot. I think water board is good for a rest if you have oil slick and are in low gear. High gear in water leads to active torpedo boats that shoot and mines being dropped by boats off the screen. There won't be reaction time sometimes...the mines just appear. Throw in a helicopter bombing and I say high gear boats is suicidal. Perhaps for a second to quickly get back onto to the ramp to the van.

Staying on the water for extended periods of time is difficult too because the channels narrow...it there is a helicopter bombing while you are in a narrow channel, you're dead.

As far as the icy roads stages, there are strategies to minimize the enemy, but they don't eliminate the problems. Using vans to block out enemies from he rear can work quite well at times. But, once curves start and enemies to your front start to slow down, that van can also kill you...it can crowd you off the road.

I can address everything stated above, point by point. I thought of even using a stool on the water boards to minimize the leg wear and tear...I decided against it because I thought it would throw me out of rhythm. I guess what I am saying with all of this is that pointers are great until the game starts. As the great Mike Tyson said "everyone has a plan until they get hit." I think that is appropriate to Spy Hunter. I lose cars through no fault of my own...the game will claim your cars regardless of strategy. If there is skepticism about the world record on my end, it would be that the length of time plus the nature of the game to claim your cars with random puddles, a bomb that drops with no sound at the bottom of the screen but appears ofn the top of the screen, the bullet proof bullies that wreck into each other in front of you and give your no time or place to go...the game isn't a static maze. And perhaps this means I am not very good, but I cannot just show up and say "I am going to break a million today" because the game has input on that. No amount of willpower or superior strategy overcomes the game's built in quirks. I think the fact that there is only one video submitted on here of a million point performance shows the reality of what I am talking about.

I've seen him utilize these strats on my personal machine in my house and at gaming events/conventions all around. I thought that I could use my flight yoke skills from Return of the Jedi/Road Blasters/S.T.U.N. Runner to do well on this game, but that's a big NOPE! He showed me how these things needed to be done and I couldn't copy. It's a rough game to learn. I just stuck with driving like a madman and using twitch skills and reflexes to get up to 350k. I don't doubt his skills and his score may be legit...I am just saying that those strategies alone do not get such a score and the lack of any physical evidence (the eyewitness was a friend and the score was reported via phone...the article I read said the witness was talking to the judge on the phone) will always lead to some doubt about the score. Just watch my video and ask yourself "how could someone keep this pace up for another 10 hours past what I see here?" He may have, and I can live with that score being the record, but having experienced the game at a high level, I think I am entitled to wonder.

My main question...when will my score get either accepted or declined? I can't affect 1985, but I'd like some closure on my score.
