I've been going back and forth over the years on whether or not to have some of my prototypes graded. I like WATA over VGA, but over the last couple of years I've noticed sealed WATA games continue to climb to outrageous prices. Anyone familiar with sealed collectors in the North West? I can appreciate the mint mindset, but such condition doesn't hold up for any game that was mass produced, esp in comparison to something legitimately rare. No clue what one of the last NWC Gold Carts sold for, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't near 60k, not 600k for damn sure.

At this point do sealed collectors ignore the original number of units printed and now go by how many are floating around that have survived over the years? I can see it for US Neo Geo AES games and TG16, since those are rather rare and had low inital print runs.

Something significant like that SNES / Playstation prototype console that popped up a few years ago. That's in the one of a kind realm and has it's place in history. Wild exceptions like that I can see, but sealed games? I dunno. That will only encourage counterfeits. I hope the people grading these games are studying up on their H Seams
