TG Certificates

Are there still problems with orders getting "lost" in the system - I ordered a certificate, as did someone else in Australia several months ago, and still nothing?

    i need to qualify this, because apparently some took this as taunting when in reality i'm giving real advice that sadly is the only way things work here

    you have to be a squeeky wheel regularly tagging and asking. its the only way things get done. theres a reason so many people who have the ability to reason are so loud here, its because loudness is encouraged and patience and politeness is punished

    @Dave Hawksett could you please weigh in on the certificate process? I recall a post from Jace several months ago where I thought he mentioned that the system of ordering exclusive certificates was going to be handled by a third party. On that basis, it should be a straight-forward process of order, print, and ship. I know that Jace previously announced that he didn't want TG to get into the certificate business but since there is indeed an option to order, let's make it work for the community (especially considering the high price point for the document).

    Also, for a much reduced price point, would TG consider an option that permits gamers to purchase a digital-only copy of the certificate?

    The certificates are a lie.

    The certificates are a great indicator of the state of Twin Galaxies...

    They have all the raw materials they need to make a certificate bought and paid for. When someone orders a certificate it goes through paypal immediately and shows up in someone's mail box with all of the necessary information. Even if the certificate isn't auto-populated (which it likely is), it would require a total of about half an hour (max) to fill in the form, proof it, print it, package it, and then print a shipping label...but they can't figure out how to get these things to people within a month (internationally or domestically).

    I've said it before, and I'll say it again, find a high school aged kid who knows how to work a computer, pay them $10 per certificate (payable once the tracking number confirms delivery) and you'd have these things things in gamer's hands within a week while still making a hefty profit on each certificate

    Your certificate is currently going through the TGSACertificateP. We’re still debating whether to send it to you or not.

    I am waiting on a certificate too. Ordered back on Feb 29th, and I am still waiting for my piece of paper. Nearly 4 months so far.

    It's clear @TWIN GALAXIES that the current arrangement for obtaining certificates is not living up to the original vision. At first I thought it might be related to the fact that TG moved its office from Beverly Hills to Century City, but after double-checking the Wayback Machine it seems that the move happened between late April and early May, so that can't be the factor at play here.

    With more reflection, I believe that something like a more affordable digital-generated certificate that can be emailed or downloaded would simultaneously uphold Jace's pronouncement about saving trees and not getting into the printing business while also providing some needed buzz and renewed interest around TG submissions/records. The printed cert process seems broken, so why not introduce a digital option, drop the cost and let the user decide how much they want to spend on the paper type, ink quality of the certificate.

    It would be cool to have access to run off something like a free digital cert after your record is accepted via TGSAP. You could then go and order a hard copy of that cert from TG same as what we do currently. i'd do that, and i feel like the digital certificates would be a nice little feature to encourage more members to TG too

    @Dave Hawksett - is Twin Galaxies going to reply to this? Honestly, this is pretty bad form.

    Not to mention that on at least 3 if not more occasions now, I've contacted TG to see if they would like to co-brand an event in Australia (at no cost to TG mind you) to promote TG.

    We the community love TG, but you aren't helping yourselves.

    I actually had planned to order a few more certs. Mostly just to annoy my wife, but since I have to pay now and get them maybe by 2020. There is no way.

    @CONSOLEPLAYEROFTHECENTURY

    I figure this tag is about as likely to get a response at this point

    to be fair, franny has been very helpful and has often gone way above the call of duty, but she can only make up for so much incompetence of the rest of the team

    RTM REPLY - I wonder as I see this now whether this would explain why last night, while still at my job, my work number was called three times by Rudy's area code, and my cell phone twice.

    What you said got a response all right...but it was from Rudy :)

    speculation here, i wonder if we stumbled on, well maybe not a bug, but an oversight

    tagging people sends them an email. you then log into for the notification to see where you were tagged. Do banned members still get email notifications that they were mentioned, but of course then cant log in and see where?

    i'm speculating poor 'ole rudy got an email, knows he's being talked about, and is freaking out wondering what people are saying about him and as your the only one i'm aware of to partner with him after his ban it makes sense hed run to you to ask about

    lie to him and say his unbanning is being discussed, that'll be funny :)

    We are sorry some are still having issues with certificates. This is unacceptable at this stage. Certificates are handled by HQ in LA. I am on a different continent but will chase up internally for you.

    @Dave Hawksett

    any movement on this? can you send out an update?

    I'm wondering where it stands now because today there is another person who posted about this:

    https://www.twingalaxies.com/mikeemcfly/wall/6835/certificate-wait-time

    I recognize you're in a different location, but seriously man, it's the 21st century. A ton of businesses operate in different geographies and don't have these problems.

    Don't follow up internally, use your position as head custodian and clean this mess up...get into paypal, follow up with every person who doesn't have a tracking number with confirmed delivery attached to their order by sending an email of apology and fully refunding their order.

    If you can't do this pretty simply task to make things right, then it's clear TG is more broken than anyone is willing to admit. If you can do it and you're unwilling to prioritize this task at this point, then you may as well openly admit you don't give two shits about this community or anyone attempting to be a part of it

    the only person that got anything done is "on a different continent" so throwing the only person at tg who cared under the bus is a great way to show appreciation for the only working member (coincidentally or perhaps not coincidentally someone dave didnt hire).

    also curious to hear what being "on a different continent" has to do with not closing out disputes or a host of other issues.

    Despite being part of a tech company, it seems Dave only communicates face to face or through standard post
