$1k ($1000 AUD) Bounty - Bump 'n' Jump

So there has been talk recently about a bounty system - I'm offering this one up - no catches, I'll pay it if someone does it.

The game - Bump 'n' Jump.

Settings are as per TG rules:
Hard Settings
Bonus life 30k and every 30k (they stop after 990k)
3 Starting lives

Playing on MAME - you MUST submit your INP along with video of you playing the game - so have a webcam on you. The INP must be analysed - community voting will not be accepted without this.

Playing on an original arcade - you must film yourself playing the original machine, you must film all game play and you must film the original PCB - I'll also accept those with Burnin' Rubber PCBs which is the same game - it's actually the original, Bump 'n' Jump was the renamed game for the North America market.

Players who have been caught cheating (in terms of the TG dispute threads) are not eligible to enter.

The bounty expires on Dec 31, 2020 meaning your score must be accepted into the database by that date.

The score you must achieve - 5,000,000.

So you got me curious on motivation, i thought maybe you wanted to prove the top score was fake or something so i looked it up and see its very much real and yours. This is interesting. Is this just a way of proving noone can come near you even with money as the reward?

I can only think of two other caes like this. i believe todd put up a bounty to match him on dragster, pretty much to prove how amazing he is, and i think billy put up a bounty for a milloin on donkey kong after he already did a million but it was a one day only even or something

there are obvious differences here :) and those differences make it all the more exciting. I like it.

@Snowflake - the motivation is to try to find some competition on this game. It's no fun being the best, when not too many other people play it and I know there are some very very good players out there.

and secondly, it would be nice to at least promote a game that I love that doesn't get much attention. it was hugely popular BITD in Australia

Update: Bounty open to everyone, including those who scored over 2.5 mil :) Not sure if Charlie is still actively playing though.

its funny cause i just started playing intellivision bump n jump. to my untrained eyes it appears to be a pretty good port (unlike the atari version which i can instantly see is more inspired by the game rather than a port of the game). Have you checked out the intellivision version? whats your opinion on how close/different it is from arcade?

    No I haven't.

I checked out the NES port last year when someone broke the record on the EMU track and it is bloody rough.... I do like their port, though it's a long way short of the original game, it does add a few little fun things.

I've never downloaded an intellivision emulator, maybe I'll have a look at it.

in no way am i saying it sucked, i havent played yet. but comparing the two its immediatly obvious of the differnces. you have a car that bumps and jumps but the maps are immediately noticable as different

I dont have any maps memorized, but i do roughtly know how each map looks and i recognize cedrtain things. as far as my memory goes john video that i reviewed for arcade and my own gameplay for intellivision it looks as identical as i can tell, though again i dont have maps memorized now did i compare side by side. further car ai may be different so if anyone is able to memorize the game and turn it into a patter that would matter, but if you just treat the cars as random then i doubt theres much difference there

thats all i was doing, trying to see if intellivisiion and arcade are as close as they look and pointing out i know atari is different. no judgement. i was about to quit intellivision bump n jump cause of the jumps that cant just be done by skill and require perfect memorization, that felt not worht it to me. but if the two versions are close enough that i can simultaneously practice for the bounty as well as the get the intellivision record then that gives me renewed interest in the game

in other words my motivation is completley selfish. im trying to see if i can double dip and learn two games for the effort of one.
