Huge penalty to my credibility?

Is this because of all of the disputed scores by starsoldier1? Because if so, I don't feel it's right that I'm being penalized over something that went unnoticed for so long.

I didn't get hit this time, but the one that happened a couple weeks ago got me bad-I think it SUCKS, but people got on me for complaining, so it just is what it is, I guess.

Sorry. Really a messed up deal, IMO, us penalized for someone else's technical mistake that is nearly impossible to discern w/o intricate knowledge.

I mentioned only voting on things you know extremely well, that was poo pood on big time, so I dunno how we are supposed to win, tbh.

    :(

I totally agree that we take unfair hits, yet... Okay, so you take a totally unfair hit, or 2 or more, and you take it on the chin, suffer a bit, then gradually move on & mostly get over it... Then let's say you see them make an exception or more for someone else, the rest of us would be like, wtf, right?

If you took hits its because you voted wrong. 99% of Ryans PAL subs were bad, the fact that it was caught later is only part of the problem, it should have been caught at the time of submission but many just took for granted that Ryan was a good guy and was doing nothing wrong and people blindly voted away all the CR they earned. I personally think this should be a lesson learned but it seems its not and the blind voting is still going on, and I say it because there was another wall post pointing out that it may still be going on and most likely is just because someone is "trusted" pro tip :DTA:

Id like to make a few points. Firstly, Im still curious to know what other's interest in amounting credibility is? It only seems to be a marginal factor in how quick other people's submissions go through. And does it outweigh voting the way YOU felt best?

I also dont think the majority of submissions require an expert's opinion. But you have to understand, PAL submissions involve gear from other countries that most of us arent familiar with. Just like we urge new users to become familiar with TG's rules before making a submission, if NTSC is tracked differently than PAL, we have to urge adjudicators to be familiar with why.

Besides the credibility hit, its perfectly ok that voters didnt realize that PAL submissions involve not only the hardware, but software as well. Thats how we learn.

Lastly, I dont think Ryan's PAL submissions necessarily involved blind voting, as much as it did just being unfamiliar with the hardware and software being reviewed. I can say this though: be wary of voting one way or another simply because another user stated they were doing so. Watch eachother's footage...If you care about Credibility that is. If its not a big deal to you, then be happy in knowing someone will dispute it later and work things out like we have here.

    Just my 2 cents =)

I think for some, it shows how hard they work here and, being competitive gamers naturally having a higher CR is an achievement... we are all here to achieve something so I'm sure we can all relate.

I personally don't care for CR but one thing that is nice about it is i can vote on certain things with a certain amount of CR (Bans, disputes, adding disputes etc).

Either way I think voting just sucks, I've stopped doing so especially after people voted correctly on my submission and still it got rejected resulting in people taking a CR hit.

Garrett Holland is not a blind voter for sure, and he voted for many of Ryan's submissions.

It further supports a theory i've been pushing for years...

Like for like hardware and software when it comes to regions... we wouldn't have this issue then nor would we have to look out for PAL/NTSC differences in games which i may add... to the naked eye can be impossible in some cases.

Speaking of Garrett Holland, it appears that he has been inactive on this site for the past 2 months.

I never saw any announcement of a decision to leave (or take an extended break), so I hope that everything is all right.

Oh yeah, just remembered he dropped in on Marco's twitch stream, I see one from 11 days ago. Hope it's okay for me to share that.

Thank you, Stella_blue! My sister passed away in July, was unexpected, and the circumstances were suspicious (the hospital violated nearly every protocol in the book due to them replacing sound medical competence with an administrative decision-making process based on an irrational fear of C-19) so I had to shift priorities for the time being from a logistics perspective rather than a coping one. I still log in from time to time, but simply have had no time to participate. Hopefully, that will change soon. It was merely a coincidence that the timing occurred around the same timeframe that Ryan's subs were successfully (and correctly) disputed. I took a 4K cred hit (30K down to 26K), which in the bigger picture would still be insignificant even if I did care about CR, which I do not beyond having enough CR to fully participate, which is currently 4K, the threshold to dispute.

    My condolences,

I am very sorry to hear about your sister. I also lost someone just over 2 years back and we have our suspicions about the hospital not doing its due diligence. I hope things work out for you in the best possible way they can.

I noticed your absence Mr Holland, I had been wondering about you. My heartfelt condolences sir. Life is cruel and unfair and way too incredibly short; fleeting, like flowers, here one day and gone the next. That's why we mustn't take one another for granted and cherish every moment we have.
You and your family are in my thoughts & prayers.

Well, I cant say that I have had the best record as of late since I took 4 hits as I voted on 2 of ryan's scores myself it seems as well as falling victim to voting yes to submissions that were rejected as they had the wrong times/scores attached to them.

Is it anyone else's fault other than my own that I took those hits? No.

Though on one hand I would have liked to have had a chance to remove or change my vote once the clerical errors were spotted on the two submissions that were rejected. Even then, I should have spotted the error in the first place.

When there is a submission made, one reply stating the score is good and 'accepted' with little else happening. What can we presume anyone else is doing that is voting on the submission? I have no idea if the number of views can be seen on the videos that are linked to the submissions. I'd fathom if there are 10 views and 25 votes.. That is a clear indication that people are blind voting.

Garrett, I'm sorry that American Healthcare failed your family. It has so many issues that have been coming to light since C-19 and when I got really sick they didn't give two shits when I tested negative. Not comparing that to a loss of life and I'm deeply saddened it came to that. I'm always here if you need to talk since you keep up with my Facebook. Kinda fighting a super hateful megachurch right now so my attention is limited.

Blind voting will always be a thing. There will always be a dividing line between those that do and those that don't care about credibility. Honestly, all of this could be avoided if we would just play games on the systems they are intended for but I know that isn't easy given backwards compatibility and pricings. Still, I guess I just wouldn't submit a game unless I know for sure its a valid console and region for the game and console. I hope this all clears up soon.
