    Day 15 of 17 ...

Did you know ... the joust tournament originated in France about the middle of the 11th century. Several chroniclers credit a French baron, Geoffroi de Preully, with having invented tournaments from 1066. The early tournament was a mock battle between two bodies of armed horsemen and was called the mêlée. 954 years later, we are all playing Joust in MGLXLV, and this time, there are no mock battles!

In 1130, Pope Innocent II proclaimed jousting was sinful and against the teachings of the church. He banned tournaments and prohibited a proper Christian burial to those who lost their lives in the sport. The ban was lifted in 1192 by King Richard I. The ban was also lifted in 2020 ...

    Day 17 of 17.

    Final Results ...

It seems to be easier to shoot than it is to flap. The designer took a huge risk to buck the trend of space shooters to make this game. Perhaps it was such a big game changer that most of the competitors in this MGL found it too hard to handle. The scoreboard shows that only 5 gamers made it over 150K, which is an excellent score on this tough bird. SMK, CrazyKongFan, DaLar and RMacauley played great to score from 289K down to 152K, for 2nd place to 5th place respectively.

Congratulations to Tracey for winning Game 8, with an incredible score of 9,999,999 points. He played for 5.5 hours for that score, and it proved to be a masterful game of surreal jousting. The grand old Duke of York may have had 10,000 men, but Tracey skidaddled the enemy knights with far less lives. He also won his first ever MGL game, after playing in his 43rd game in all time MGLs. That’s double the congratulations.

SWAT and Moon Cresta are the last 2 games in play. They are both tactical and strategic, challenging and dynamic. Good luck to you on these very rare titles.
