King of the Dreamcast

Today I reached 1st place in the leaderboard of one of my favorite consoles, the Sega Dreamcast. It took a lot of submissions, but I'm happy I did it. Thanks to everybody adjudicating my stuff and competing.

I'm amazed that at least 6 of the top 10 rankings are CT players from the summer console competitions of 2001 !!

RTM REPLY - a LONG time ago, around 2004-2005 range, it was discussed but never implemented (as Brien King's laundry list of "to do's" was far too long) a way of calculating who #1 was on a specific title with multiple TG-accepted variations.

We had seen what the individual communities did (F-Zero, MK and Goldeneye) where they combined the finishing times for each and the lowest aggregate time across the board...for only those who had logged a registered performance for each) was calculated and whoever had the lowest of the group was deemed the champion.

I'd like to think that the same was possible for TG in the here and now...ideally following suit but with the nuances of NTSC, PAL and emu tracks now available, having up to three distinct "champions" per title, one for each.

Just a matter of some programming, and easier said than done, but entirely do-able. I put together one such grid myself for the old Sega DC "Wacky Races" title and shared it with fellow competitors Matthew Leto, Rodrigo Lopes and Tom Duncan and it worked perfectly. So if such can be done manually via EXCEL, it could surely be done by TG for selected titles with multiple TG-accepted variations.

F-Zero (and FZX), MK and MK64, DK Jr, Wacky Races, Goldeneye, Blast Corps 64, SSB and so many others would be very conducive to such programming, and it would be a great competitive indicator for those interested in such titles.
