Leaving this site until further notice.

Lately this site has had a few changes that have disrupted things very badly and has made the TG experience very, very frustrating.

1. All accepted submissions are going to limbo, dissapearing from the leaderboard and not counting toward ESI or number of WR.

2. Site is ridiculously slow. This has been going on for a while and just by iself is not enough for me to leave, but this combined with errors in the submisions, just feels bad.

3. Bug in evidence videos. Now I can't fast foward or jump ahead to the final of a video, etc. the timeline in the video does not work and I have to copy the vzaar address and open it in a new window if I want to do any of that.

So with these three issues combined I really feel like I got nothing to do in this site for now. And as much as I like the site and to hang around here, I'll just play League of Legends and submit my console scores to cyberscore, speedrun.com and SMKplayers for now.

My Cyberscore profile https://cyberscore.me.uk/user/31648

My SMKplayers profile http://mariokartplayers.com/smk/wrn.php?cfilter=Mexico

My speedrun.com profile https://www.speedrun.com/user/DanOcampo

See ya.

    1. Hire better web developers. Get rid of ESI.

    2. Hire better web developers, engineers, programmers, whatever the heck you wanna call them.

    3. See half of point #1 and all of #2. *puts on tinfoil hat* maybe it is intentional that way to weed out blind voters.

first of all before i pile on to the complaining, it'll be sad to see you go but good to have you back

    on to the complaints

seriously, whats with programming making it worse and worse. i feel that literally having zero programming changes this past year would've left us in a better place than we're currently in. i really dont get it.

and yeah, the disappearing records is VERY annoying. i would imagine more so for mass submitters. i guess i can find my sub itself which reminds me of something else

you know how i search for things on this site? i go to google. google, which has to search the whole internet can find the tg link i'm looking for faster than the twingalaxies link. you'd literally have a faster search if you programming it to just do a google search, and then filter to only twin galaxies results

I have always found the TG search to be slow. Do you know how incredibly simple it is to put in a google search box on your website? You paste 10 lines of javascript. I have been doing that for YEARS.

Thanks man, I wouldn't say Im gone for good cause I really like the site and most importantly, the people I've met here. If one day I get really pissed and decide to leave, then that would be it, I would never come back. But this is not the case, I will come back as soon as the submission issue is fixed.

When I joined TG my main goal was to submit my scores for Excitebike World Rally, I did that and then decided to see if I could get to the Top 10 in ESI and WR's and I have been working towards that from then on, I submit a lot, invest a a lot of time here and its going pretty good, but at this moment I can't make any progress in any of those leaderboards because the accepted 1st places aren't counting towards my number of WRs either (more than 30 so far), so I really feel like I have nothing to do here apart from adjudicate a few submissions and then the video bug happens, so now I have to open a new tab everytime I want to watch a video? that's too much, it feels like work now instead of fun.

    I completely agree with this.

There was a change that I thought it was pretty good but a few days later they removed it. It was filter to show you only the games where you have records, I found it useful but it is gone now.

Yeah man, the last couple of years on the website has been nothing but poorly implemented "new" features that get neglected soon after implementation.

Profiles, dispute forums, certificates, editorial, tournament system, wiki.... whoever runs this place now doesn't seem to have much of an attention span or time to do it justice.

Feels like the userbase is melting away.

You're not the first man to get fed up of this place, and you won't be the last.

This site has become more annoying, today, because it now plays videos automatically, although I forbade it to do so (browser setting). Also, clicking the video clock no longer toggles it between 'time remaining' and 'time elapsed'. Thus, once again, TG has made changes which make its website suck more than before. Well done, TG.

Good luck building your other gaming profiles, Mr Ocampo. You are doing the right thing, walking away.

Im with you on this. I've. Even lurking a little of late in 10-15 minute chunks because that's about all I can manage before I get annoyed with the site clunkiness. Glad you're not GFG, but definitely understand the step back.

See you on the otherwise of this mess (hopefully)

I hate to see you go, a heck of a competitor, active community member, and site advocate. The site changes and programming missteps are more than just annoying. I'm having trouble seeing how these changes add-up to a big picture perspective. What is TG trying to accomplish and what iterative steps do they need to implement to move in that direction? With just about every change, I'm more confused on what their vision is or even if there is a vision. Pick a destination, map out a path, and take steps to reach the destination. Focus on too many things with limited resources is only going to rip you apart.

Good luck to you Pixe - maybe I'll see you over at Cyberscore.

We’ve recently moved servers and there has been some residual effect of the move.

The calculation services have been restored and running in the background .

Score displays will be corrected automatically in a couple of days as the system grinds thru the data.

Thanks man! We seriously appreciate you letting us know after the fact...

Sorry to see you go,even if temporary.

But I agree with many comments here. There is no communication from TG until after the fact, or we make a huss or fuss.
SOTG returned, left again, without schedule or communication that it may or may not return.

The only thing around here that is consistent is the lack of consistency.

Twin Galaxies somehow has existed for 35+ years. If Twin Galaxies doesn't support the scoreboard first and thorough it will be gone. The tournament system, dispute, TG editorial, a new website, a new name, a new logo, or a profile page is going to save it or change it into something it is not.

TGSAP works but needs to be maintained.

At this point of TG, this is how I think the priorities should be.

    1. TGSAP - This is how all new scores are entered, if it doesn't work TG is just another history book. This is the driving force behind the website.

    2. Scoreboard - TGSAP already takes care of the integrity most of you will use as the scoreboard should be number 1 argument. All the old scores can be disputed so the integrity is now a part of finding already entered scores.

    3. Keeping Rules/Policies up to date and the Dispute system - Have to know what we can and can't do. The dispute system is a key necessity to fix number 2, maybe need to pay attention to it more.

    4. Communication is key in everything. Business, casual, marriage. 99% of the time when there is no communication from one side, the relationships fall apart and things never get better. Much like the state we are all in now with this place.

    5. NOTHING ELSE REALLY MATTERS!!! Seriously, nothing else matters. They are all just perks and if they are going to screw with 1 and 2, remove them. Player profiles are great and I think they have what they need in them for people. The tournament system would be great, but it serves no purpose being on TG as it's not being used. You can use challonge to set up brackets, or any other number of sites. You can use email to set up tournaments and rules. If staff is working on any part of the tournament system resources are being vastly wasted.
