Driving options and car setup/modifications are player choice. Wall Riding is prohibited. Wall Riding is the act of using a wall to maneuver around a corner instead of attempting the corner normally.

I'm curious: you treat the last chicane with disdain but honour the track boundary for the one immediately prior. Any reason?

No reason. It's an eternal subconscious fight for me. I want to keep it neat all the time. Then I thought, "Oh yeah! No boundaries!!"
I have to do it just to compete with the non boundary types!
