Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
This is gonna be a lot of fun. I'm surprised it made the list, honestly; I wasn't sure anyone else cared about this game. - ZM
Okay, figured I'd give the basic greeting. Ahem.
GREETINGS Y'ALL!!!
Now for the advanced stuff. As Kelly said, my name's Russell and I'm the ref for SI95, which is ironic because a few years back I was the ref for the original Space Invaders. Creepy huh? Anywho, just a little FYI, I have a filter on my email that sends any message that says \"Deca 2007\" somewhere in the subject to my TG folder, making it easier for me to see if any new submissions or just basic Deca news has been sent. If possible, please make sure that Deca 2007 is in the subject line somewhere (don't worry Kelly, I already got your submission and will check it once this is done).
If there's any questions, I'm really interested in learning about this game, as I'm a big fan of SI (just because I'm a big fan doesn't mean I'm good :D), so just fire away and I'll see what I can do. Other than that, I plan on having as much fun as possible these next three months.
One other thing. As most people here do I work a full time job five days a week, so if I don't get to your submissions at first, don't worry, I'll check it within 24 hours if possible, so bear with me...I work retail. :D
EDIT: Make sure that any submissions sent to me use my YAHOO address, not my gmail address. I used my gmail address for the forums so my main email wouldn't get flooded with topic reply notices.
Possible to do a lot of leeching on the boss stages. Although I don't think anyone will be a dick and stay on the boss stage for 20 minutes. Let's just agree to keep the game moving without having to get out the stopwatch on the bosses.
What apen if you make a no miss on a bonus stage ?
I know what happen if you do a perfect bonus stage :D :
you get the same bonus than the boss on the same level.
10.000 pts for the first bonus stage.
20.000 pts for second bonus stage and so on...
This game is very interesting and i solved a lot of questions i had :
yes, all tricks of old space invaders are working on this version. 8)
now, here are some SI 95 calculation :
Ending the game seem difficult, but if you do so, 1.000K pts seem possible as a maximum (nearly no miss at all and all bonus stages perfect).
But to do that, you will have more than 1.800 invaders + the 5 bosses to shoot all along the game, and each time you will miss a shoot, you will loose 2.550 pts on your final score.
That make, i think, the 1.000.000 pts nearly impossible even for our greats champions but who knows... It is TG DECA.
This calculation is without little leeching on bosses.
Well, we're almost two weeks within the Deca...okay a week and a half...so I figured I'd give you guys the lowdown on what all's been happening...kinda like a weekly recap, only bigger for this post. Everything on this is on the scoreboard, but for those who read this more, kinda an update on things.
An awesome run by Jerome (sorry, don't know how to make accents on my PC) gave us a top score of 432,130, but APM submitted an amazing score as well (304,120) to place him in second for the game. So far, twelve people have submitted scores on this game, which is pretty nice for only the first eleven days or so, so I'm expecting some really incredible scores from everyone in the comming weeks, and I know someone will beat the game before this is over.
You know, this brings back memories of when I reffed Space Invaders back in the 2003 Deca. Thankfully, this one is more interesting to watch. Ahh the pretty colors.
If any other drastic score changes happen, I'll try to keep this thread as up to date as possible, and as always, check out the scoreboard for the most up to date changes.
Will Mr Bedard make 1000.00?
Two very solid submissions so far. How is your Robotron?
It is beginning to hot up after just 2 weeks - great stuff.

I don't really play robotron so at this point I suck at it. Unless I get a breakthrough in the coming months I'll probably be around 200K. Don't think I'll try for a million on space invaders, I'm annoyed I missed the 3rd bonus level perfect but everything else went as planned. Don't have a consistent trick for the 4th bonus level and going for accuracy on the final levels is risky. Even with that I'd imagine you'd need to hang around on the 3rd boss level to reach 1M. I'm ok with this score for now.
Impressive game Martin  w
Nearly perfect game :
missed 3rd perfect bonus 30K
missed 4th perfect bonus 40K
missed 20 or 21 shot only (incredible) means 2.5K x 20 = 50K
That makes a 950K with a perfect game.
1.000 K seems impossible BUT...
...Martin did not use the \"furrer trick\"! 8)
You should look for a FAQ on the old space invaders (78) because it is also working on this one : it say that if you count your shoot you can have 3K for all the flying saucer crossing the screen.
Basically, you count 22 shot then use the 23rd shot to kill the big flying saucer or the gift one for 3.000 points,
then count 14 and use the 15th shot for a 3K again and all 15th after...
You can finish with 27K on first screen with this trick.
And i think it can make the 50K missing very very \"easy\", the problem is being able to count the shot, avoid to miss the invaders, avoid the invader's shoot and all that without becoming insane.
Martin, it is an incredible game and i don't think anybody will beat you on this one.
