Something tells me that it may be a Twin Galaxies issue.*shrugs*
Haha! Mr. Awesome will be complaining about the size of his track-balls until The End.
Whatever you do, don't give him your number. It is not so awesome.
I saw Roy give a panel at California Extreme, it may have been the funniest f!?@#!ng thing I've ever heard, I wish I'd caught it on tape. He said "I know Rob Mruczek is running Twin Galaxies, and everything, he is pulling all the strings. And I'm sure he's got someone recording this right now but I don't care."
After 15 minutes of comedy gold he ran out of stuff to say and took some questions. No one was asking and I felt bad for him, so I said something like isn't it true that your fastest to round 100 in missile command score made it in the guinness book last year, and added that I'd seen that recording and how I can attest to his skills. He looked proud and said, "yeah, I got skills."
Poor guy can't even figure out how to market himself. Good thing the qwizatz hopsalot and arcade superhero Duncan Idontknow was there to help him out in his time of need.
That is an awesome pic, Jace. Love the 2600 to give context.
Maybe that might be right.
I wonder if I wish, when I need a submission my high score record for Twin Galaxies or something, anyway?
We're just have to be patience, for any longer.
Data mcevoy, do you even play video games? I've never seen you.
Not that you will answer me. You will only talk about me when I'm not there, I guess.
But I've never seen you play a video game. I see you ingratiating yourself with the gaming personalities, and sniping at me and my good friend Cat DeSpira, but where is your passion for the games? It's a little bit weird and creepy stalk-y, I have to tell you.
Jace that's pretty cool. I actually have a neat tie in to go with that letter.
DID YOU KNOW--- It was Roy who initially worked with Walter to get the official TG embosser created for an award format he was desiring at that time.
And to this day every single TG award that has passed through Walter, the one ALL of you guys have if you've been at a TG award ceremony. That little gold seal stamped TG....was stamped by an embossing tool that Roy purchased for Walter.
As 2014 draws to a close the use of that embosser also closes. Retiring it forever unless Mr. Hall would like to have it passed along to the sunny SOCAL shores of Hollywood.
TG would like to have all the historic items in its possession of course!
LOL Roy sending TG stuff but nothing to Allen Staal LOVE IT
I suppose that now Roy will want a TG certificate, signed and certified that his was the first letter received by the "new TG". One guess as to what the contents are, now that he was given his bone by Richie as to that 100 round performance....it is likely that he is petitioning yet again to split the score category into different trackball settings. Between that and the "seal" story from years back, this campaign is at 29 years of BS and counting.
God bless Mr Awesome. The baton is passed to you now Jace - have fun. Just guard your phone number with your life.
for 3 easy payments of $39.95 you too can have your very own selection of TG historical memorabilia. sincerely, Ronco, Wham-O and Acme..... but wait! order now and we'll include the Roy S. bobble head, your's free. just pay extra processing and handling....
I wouldn't send a payment of any kind...it's bad enough when he gets your phone number. Getting your address alone results in your getting many pieces of unwanted mail including certified letters for years to come. But be stupid enough to pay via check, with your bank account information, and you get what you pay for...literally !!
RTM REPLY - this is a tactic that Roy...and a certain bellhop from Nevada...use all the time. An accusation without one shred of proof other than "I've heard from (sources)" or "A lot of people are saying..." (with "people" never being defined clearly). About as reliable as anything stated in either "The National Enquirer" or "World News Weekly".
That stated, I wasted the half hour or so to watch that "speech" and sadly, strictly from the laughter in the audience when he said that I was probably recording this, a few people seemed to buy into that, including the very person who gave Roy his certificate a year or so ago, to no one's surprise, who happened to be sitting in the front row.
These tactics, as well as others, are entering their 29th year for Roy, and are at or around the 10th anniversary mark for someone in Nevada. I'm guessing I'll be in my grave before these antics stop.
Don't be mean George!! Oh wait! This was before we met up in Pittsburgh and buried the hatchet. That was a good day. We even played Varkon!!Quote:
