Rules
| --5 lives to start
--Extra life every 20,000
--Difficulty Of Play: 9 (Maximum Difficulty/EXTREME)
Romsets:
Any- Red or Green. Red was early, slightly more difficult, and has the unfixed “pterodactyl hunting” bug.
Controls:
Using Player 1 or Player 2 is acceptable. Using Player 2 would involve pressing the 2-player start button then letting Player-1 die off immediately.
Special Notes:
This is an EXTREME Jousting challenge, so it is considered unsporting/illegal to stand on a platform and immediately kill off the Pterodactyls which come out at the beginning of Wave 8's and 13's (18,23,28 etc etc etc). The Pterodactyl's can be killed at any point later in the wave once they are safely flying onscreen.
Red Rom Detail- Pterodactyl hunting (TERY) is not allowed. Tery hunting would be defined as stopping the forward progress of the wave with the intent of only killing Tery's. This would be observed in the early waves of the game, leaving one gray enemy (Hunter) in the grasp of the Lava Troll, while the player sits on a ledge killing one Tery after another.
HISTORY:
This Twin Galaxies scoring challenge was created in honor of Python Anghelo who was a key artist for Joust and passed on April 9, 2014 after a brave & valiant battle against cancer. RIP
Joust was released in July 1982 by a Williams Electronics development team which was fully engrained in the culture of chess and pinball. Williams was coming off of the huge space shooting success of Defender and it was decided to try building an exciting game without bullets.
Being a methodical game of predictive trajectories, many players learned to stretch a quarter into very lengthy games...but these games were played on default difficulty. Thirty plus years later, those masters need a new challenge to prove they are still honored knights in the world of battling thy enemy. So crank up the difficulty, mount-up on the most fearless feathered steed and take to the skies. Glory, fame and adulation of the 21st century spectators awaits ye!

Submission Message
| Stephen set the next submission threshold at 250k, so here it is!
Wave 18 was a plateau, now wave 33 will be the next to roll past with a rack of lives.
After that hopefully 500k and eventually a cool million.
The X-Trifecta would be a million on extreme settings for Robo, Joust, and Defender. 1 down 2 to go!
