Hi I was wondering which revision of Gauntlet was used for Dwayne Richards WR and Charles Nagle scores.
I'm a keen Gauntlet player and would like to make sure I have the correct revision to submit score's in the future.
Thanks .
Mark.

Does anybody know the correct revision for the arcade track?
Do to the lack of answers... Why don't you record a session using revision 14 and see whats happens, just go for 500k or something, and if its not the right revision, you didnīt spend countless hours obtaining the score :)
Ive thought of doing that.there are some old threads about the forums that say the world record score's for the arcade track are done on earlier revisions(but don't state which one is used) as rev 14 isn't marathonable due to the starvation after 300k points.
Ive got and had several gauntlet pcb's and never come across a rev 14 rom set yet.
Well looking at marp for the high scores, it seems that from rev1-12 you can marathon. I do remember hearing that on some of the
earlier revisions you can get stuck and your game will end. I'd do some research on the net and see what people have said about
each new revision. I also remember Dwayne Richards would have those answers, but either way I would go with somewhere between
revision 10-12.
Rev 9 is what I have and rev 10 ,11 ,12 are language variations.i would of thought someone on here would know the answer.didnt RTM verify charles nagle previous record.

Thank barthax I'd read those threads before posting this one.ive been looking for answers for over 12 mths.knowbody seems to know which rev the record was set on.
This is what i've discovered about the differint revisions of gauntlet(4 player).
Revisions 1-5 all food given.don't have ranking sysyem and can be marathon'd.wall's dont turn to exits.
default game settings health 600 difficulty 4(moderate).
Revision 6-9 all food given.don't have the ranking sysyem and can be marathoned.
default game settings health 600 difficulty 4(moderate).
Revision 10(german release) first release to employ the ranking system, can't be marathoned.
default game settingt health 700 diffuculty 4(moderate).
Revision 12(japanese) food removed levels 1-7 ,dont have ranking sysyem and can be marathon'd.
default game settingt health 1000 diffuculty 4(moderate).
Revision 13(japanese) has the ranking sysyem and can't be marathon'd.
default game settingt health 1000 diffuculty 4(moderate).
Revision 14 has the ranking sysyem and can't be marathon'd.
default game settingt health 700 diffuculty 4(moderate).
Revision 15 (spanish) has the ranking sysyem and can't be marathon'd.
default game settingt health 700 diffuculty 4(moderate).
The final release revisions was only ever relased as an eprom update package from Atari and was never shipped with the games.probably the reason i've never come across a rev 14 pcb.
Great research. :) As there is a precedent for marathonable versions, I think you have your answer: I can't see anyone objecting to a marathon submission.
