After 6 & 1/2 hours the Vs. Excitebike world record falls as Hector T. Rodriguez puts up a score of 3,644,445 and beating the old score set back in 2009 (not that long ago) by 439,240. Nice job Hector!

I knew it! I figured that's what the arcade submission was. ;)
Congrats!
Wow, awesome score Hec!
Awesome job! 6.5 hours is a lot of Excitebike. I read about the odd extra man stuff you discovered. Very strange the way that works.
Some people have been there before on MAME and Jesse on the arcade version. But I've never watched any INPs before so it was new to me.Quote:

And yeah, 6.5 hours is alot but I'm ready to take it well beyond that if I need to. I would defend this score well past 24 hours if needed.
Stephen,
Thanks for sitting through this and the other vids.
And thanks for the kind words from everyone else.
Hector
There were some good records you put up and if you ever decide to go for that Hyper Sports record then that will be a heck of a score. That looks like it would be very difficult to achieve. Might take months and hundreds of games.Quote:

I've never seen a Vs Excitebike Machine anywhere. After beating the Vs Super Mario Bros record, I'm definitely going to put Vs Excitebike on my list of games to try out more.
Arcade gaming is just too fun. The difficulty of beating records really attracts me to them.
Good job on the new high score. I have read in a Japanese high score magazine that the game actually counterstops after 9,999,990. I am not sure why this would work since score changes to a00,000 after 1,000,000 points. I have also not played it long enough to find out if this is true or not. Does anyone know if the game has a kill screen?
That would be an 18 hour game to get 9.9mil. And if the free men are like on SMB then you can get too many. Then it's one death and game over. I would like to know for sure about how many men I can rack up and if there is a kill screen just in case I ever want to marathon this game. I was probably around stage 180 on my game.Quote:
