2011 Mame Decathlon WINNER!
Congratulations goes to Valter Treib who literally came out of nowhere and took the lead and ran hard with it! Very nicely done! Valter ran hard witha final score of 815.92 points!
Congratulations also goes out to Chris Bolding who put up some other seriously impressive numbers [Ladybug anyone? Cheeky Mouse!?] and came in 2nd place with an overall of 678.06 points.
I would also be remiss to not congratulate Brandon LeCroy who came in a very tightly run 3rd place with an overall run of 668.72 points.
And finally, but not least, I would like to thank EVERYONE who participated in this years Deca and made it work out so well. I've recieved a LOT of positive feedback about the style change and I am quite greatful for it! I have 2 more ideas I am hoping to run.. one of which will hopefully go on after my tenure.. and definitely feel confident in them working out. :) This 1 month format proved to make a very tight and unpredictable race and made things totally fun!
And special thanks to Tim Stodden and Russ Archey whom have so kindly assisted me with a scoreboard and verification duties!
Now... as you know, the new site has gone live! Interesting things happening in the 1 week I end up being forced to disappear due to work [15hr days at work do not make TG posts terribly possible] Anyways, once the dust settles on the site, we will be going to enter EVERY score from this Deca into the database. It will take a bit, but it will be done! :)
Thank you everyone once more for making this years competition work so well!
Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
Re: 2011 Mame Decathlon WINNER!
Well done to Valter, Chris and Brandon.
Also thanks to Kelly, Russ and Tim!
This was my first Deca, and thought the style of it was great! I will without a doubt compete in any future Deca's.
Re: 2011 Mame Decathlon WINNER!
Yes I believe a 2nd congratulations is in order for Mr. Valter. Later to the Party or not, you were cracking heads at the end of it!

Re: 2011 Mame Decathlon WINNER!
Many congratulations to Valter, a great performance! Chris and Brandon as well, you guys put up some awesome scores.
Also want to second the thanks for Kelly, Tim, and David for their efforts in putting the Deca together and verifying all the scores. My only regret is not having more time - not that I would have won or anything, but I might have avoided last place by more than a couple points :) Still, the one month timeframe is probably the way to go, I just happened to have a lot of stuff keeping me busy.
I also liked the one manufacturer theme - made it pretty interesting. This was my first Deca and I'll definitely be back for more!
Michael
p.s. Andrew - your Mr. Do score was incredible - the only INP I ever watched for strategy was the 91K you posted a couple weeks back - finally got me past scene 6, so thank you.

Cheers :) As stated in another thread, I spent WAY too much time on that title!

Hi all!
Thanks Kelly, Tim and Mr. Archey! Also congratulations to all players, mainly to Chris Bolding, Brandon LeCroy, Andrew Barrow. Also hello to DALAR (Daniel Larsen) from MARP tournaments, and to QRS (Anders Svensson). Let's restart playing bro. :)
Considering I started playing this DECA almost in the 2nd half (about Feb 12~14/02), and the lack of time to play, I consider it was an excellent personal result. Well, sincerely I don't consider me a good classic player, and at first look I didn't like the One Manufacturer idea, but I started playing NOVA2001 and like it, and then the overall of games looked fine. Why not try? Let's play and learn it.
I really played much less than I planned (some games a couple of hours), but I think I distributed correctly the time. Before the deadline, I would like to return and play a bit more of my first games (COSMICA and NOVA2001), but I couldn't. In the last Saturday I started on SRAIDER, in the same night I played SNAPJACK, and Sunday night I started LADYBUG (PS.: Kelly mistakenly used my DOWILD 61k INP in LADYBUG table, that I e-mailed him to correct, but wasn't corrected, but all right :) ).
- About the score format (percentage) of DECA, it's very good (it's not good when marathonable games are involved, but it's not the case).
- The preriod of 28 days to 10 games is very short, yet more if I (and QRS ;) ) start later... Minimum 6 weeks is ok.
- Manufacturer? I changed my mind after playing this DECA. It was ok. I hope to play a Capcom one.
Well, I will say details about the games in the other post. And it was a great competition, with a very good game selection. Thanks again!
