You'll submit on the tournaments.twingalaxies.com website when the competition actually begins. You will be required to submit performances done DURING the competition itself.
Will there also be a requirement to submit the scores to the TG database as well? Or do the rules differ from existing tracks in the db.
So what dates does the tournament run from and to?
It's a little unclear. Is it EST, Jan 10th 12PM to Jan 17th 12PM? I ask because i will have the most time on weekends.
Hi coordinator(s)!
In Balloon Fight, why are the people playing Game A instead of Game C now? I played Game C.
It was Game C in the rules a couple of days ago. And it was C in the http://tournaments.twingalaxies.com official page since the creation of that page (that I read and copied in December 26th).
Best regards!
Hi TRB,
This was changed from Game C to Game A the day after the tournament was announced. The game list / rules on the tournament site was updated accordingly. All announcements with the game list (as to my knowledge) were also updated.
Sorry for the confusion -- a more formal announcement should have been made regarding this change, however it happened so shortly after the tournament was announced I just assumed it wouldn't have caused a problem.
So I ran into an issue that I think Wes will find interesting.
So using the the RetroUprising Score Mode program, it says to press F12 to submit the score. Here's what its not said to us (without looking into FAQ). I received a message from one of the mods saying that my Xevious score will not be accepted on site because apparently when I press F12, YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR SCORE ON THE SCREEN WHEN YOU PRESS THAT BUTTON, So because of that, I'll never know what my last 3 digits on my Abadox score will be. All I know is I hit 309K.
So now Wes I turn to you. I took a screenshot of my Xevious score, which is in my evidence for the submission. and the score submitted matches the scores on my screenshot, however you will not find it on RetroUprising. What do we do in a situation like this? I'm not entirely happy of this situation.
Not to pile on, but I've noticed another nuance to submissions on RetroUprising. It counts the number of pauses that it believes you took when achieving that score. My Challenger score of 666,200 shows 1 pause. I specifically made sure on this one to confirm what was happening (a previous score showed 4 pauses). When you open Score Mode on a game then resize the window, or grab it and drag it, it pauses the gameplay and RetroUprising counts that as a pause.
This is for everyone's information. I hope my Challenger score is still acceptable with 1 pause shown on RU.
Both scores are acceptable.
Megaretroman: Enter your Xevious score as 309k, mark it as an RU score, and submit the screenshot as part of the evidence.
bensweeneyonbass: You can submit your score as well. I have access to the INP and will be able to see that no in-game pauses were used.
This has a been a great beta test so far, and in the future we'll be accepting both RU scores and WolfMAME scores for the NES so we can avoid these problems.
