Recovered a bit of a memory this go around-
Guessing it was near the end of the 2600 "era" in stores, but I remember when they started carrying games at the convenience store chain(S&S)in my hometown-pretty big town, but quite spread out-it was really "convenient"(hehe)to just run up the road and grab a game, as opposed to a half-day shopping trip.
Gopher was most definitely one I/we picked up that way.
