Hey uncle Walter! Let me get to the point., I don't believe those Daytona records! Hopefully time will tell if he can prove his time again, No excuses! Anyways, if anyone doesn't believe ANY of my records on a Racing game I'll be more than happy to not only put up the same time again... or just simply better it. Now to what Im really here for if can beat any of my times for example (like someone in California with Cruis'n USA) just sent it Walter Day not me. Fact is, I dont believe some of those CA scores myself... nothing personal.

Recently someone from Singapore published Daytona USA (arcade version) records on the net. You can view their site at this address: http://web.singnet.com.sg/~yihwen/Daytona/Daytona.html Much faster than here in my country, unfortunately but definitely many times faster than what you had in your video game score board. Those times are certainly world records! Daytona fans out there can visit their site to find out how they did these amazing times.

I can recall reading about the fabled Twin Galaxies arcade way back when, and was glad to see Walter resurrect it for a new generation. The book is fantastic (points weren't always \"pointless\"!). The hotel stories are priceless, maybe worthy of their own book. I was a bit too young (and far too unskilled) to even come close to what some of these guys were achieving; perhaps now's my chance... Thanks Walter, for devoting so much time to this subject. Guys like you are what the Golden Age of Video Games was all about. Just make some time for yourself and get back into gaming once in awhile!

I've been an avid videogame player since the early 80's as well as most of the rest of you. But unfortunatly I didn't even hear of Twin Galaxies until Last November (I know, major bummer!). I was excited as I needed to get this book and see for myself. The book is impressive indeed and I really respect Walter for everything that he continues to do for the videogame players. I've known Leo Daniels for almost a year and talk to him daily on IRC and I've also started talking to Stephen Krogman as well. I also had to personally contact Walter and tell him about the piece of art that he wrote as this book is everything that I expected it to be, plus a whole lot more. I was also surprised to see that I had a little score of mine in the book that Nintendo Power submitted to Walter. It wasn't anything that fabulous, as it was only a finished score for Power Blade for the NES, but it's a start. In the meantime I've talked to Walter about the possibilities of me becoming the official scorekeeper for the NW Indiana area and to my surprise he accepted my offer. Now I get to help others in my area who know that they are one of the best prove it and hopefully get their name in print. I'm also looking into maybe forming a team in the NW Indiana area as well. If anyone is from the NW Indiana area (Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties) and you think that you've got what it takes or want to try to set up a date so that I see if you are one of the best then e-mail me and I'll get ahold of Walter (as everything needs to be approved by him first). Hope to see some of you in the future and remember that It doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you have fun.

Dear \"Uncle\" Walter, Even know were not related, it almost seems that way sometimes. This is my story I would like to share with everyone about how I became to be not only a Prolific \"High Scorer\" and \"World Record\" Holder but what it was like to meet the master mind behind what it is known as \"The Video Game Capital of the World\" - Twin Galaxies. unfortunately, in the early 80's the time T.G. began untill they were into there 4th year world-wide tournament, I was in my own little world of Boca Raton, Florida racking up what would of been some current world records at that very moment, not knowing a thing about what T.G. was all about untill around 86'. It was around that time When I stumbled apon the T.G. Intergalactic scoreboad in a back section of the Guinness Book of World Records. I made numerous attempts to contact this scoreboard and one of the Guinness offices in England and got no were.

(Page #2 cont.) It was the middle of Sept. 97' when surfing the internet one night, I came accross a news release about this company called \"Twin Galaxies\" and Walter Day as the coordinator. All I can say is at that very moment it was one of the most happiest days of my life. More then a decade later, and an answer to one of the many letters I've sent in trying to track down this world record score keeper. Without getting my hopes up, I sent some e-mail to the address listed with the news release, and within less then 24 hours was all it took for Walter to write back to me just as happy as I was when I found him. We began talking 1 to 2 times a day between e-mail and on the phone. Within a few months later, I had made my move to Illinois from Florida to work a new job and just 2 weeks after I arrived here, I was notified from Walter that we were finally going to get to meet one another. Face to face at the 97' Pinball Expo in Rosemont Il.

(Page #3 cont.) I was so excited I couldn't believe it was true. What would I say? How would I react? Well that day came, and on the 2nd day of the event, surprisingly enough I was introduced to Walter by my friend Danny Rodriguez, who had bumped into him just minutes before. Speechless of course, but just for a few seconds, and then we just talked endlessly for over an hour. I can't tell you how much hard work and countless hours Walter has devoted into the name \"Twin Galaxies\" that stands behind him since the early 80's. Here is a man. One dream. One goal. Carried it on his back for 17 years. Been through THICK and thin. Took a decade off not knowing if he would ever be able to continue his dream.

(Page #4 cont.) After the video game industry took a bad fall to the birth of \"Home Game Consoles\" in 86'. Faith is what kept his dreams alive. What I would like to say in closing is, in just 4 short months, we have formed such a friendship between us that what the future holds for T.G. neither of us can phanthom. Walter knows when deadlines have to be met, and ideas need to be created, for different promotions and events, he can count on me any day of the week. He also knows that over a decade ago, of now memories, I never knew existed... well it's my turn now! Records WILL be broken in large quantities, and Walter can vouch for that! Regards, your good friend Stephen Krogman.

Im not talking about the pinball games, im talking about the videogame. i can play it for as long as i want. there is only one arcade that i know that has it. There are no difficulty settings listed on the twin galaxies web page and i was wondering how i could get my name on the world record list.

I am looking extremely forward to the competiton that will be involved with my contributions to the Chicago-All Stars. As an avid video game player who started in Las Vegas in 1980, I have seen the rise and fall of arcades at a very young age. I may only be 21, but I have been to over 100 different arcades in 10 states, seeing all the great accomplishments, and once again, through Twin Galaxies, will the world see that an all-around player, not just one who can only play Mortal Kombat, will be recognized.

Wow, it's been fifteen years since I first heard about the Twin Galaxies arcade and Walter Day through the original That's Incredible Video Game Invitational. Was worried that it would be defunct after reading about Twin Galaxies' woes during the mid 80's in Roger C. sharpe's old \"Video Games\" magazine. Of course we all know what happened! Since then I've had the extreme pleasure to read the excellent but short-lived arcade player's magazine \"Top Score\", and watched the industry bounce back with a vengeance! Now with the publication of the book I couldn't be happier! My sincere thanks for never abandoning this \"fad\" as it was called by its detractors, and continuing to keep track of the best scores in the world!

I'm hoping in 98' to have Grand Prix Golf-O-Rama in Dania Florida, a part of this tournement in a big way. They have over 1,000+ video/pinball/redemption games in 2 adjacent buildings. This is where I got my all-time record back in 91'. It was on Galaga. I played for 9+ hours, and then quit with 6 men left 1,200+ stages played, a hit-miss-ratio of 82%, 150,000+ shots fired, and a final score of 15,999,990 (so I could put my name :) ) This hugh FEC, is open 24-7-365! Bill Mitchell I believe is from Miami? He should rememember this giant arcade.

Hi there, I guess first of all, I would like to know what the current high score is for Mr.Do! I owned an upright machine for about 4-5 years and posted about a dozen games over two million with an average score of about 1.8 million in the last few months I owned it. My highest score was 2,320,100 on March 8, 1986 ending on scene 147 with a time of 1 hour, 6 minutes, 23 seconds. My only proof of this is the fact that I wrote it down, and assuming no one else has reached a score like this, I can tell you what happens when your game goes over an hour in length. I regretted selling it some time later but was happy as hell to find M.A.M.E. and that it ran Mr.Do! It's definately harder to play this game with a keyboard than that nice firmly planted Wico joystick on the upright, but at least I can prove my scores with the emulator by taking multiple screen shots. My current high score is 1,389,800 and is posted on a couple of high score boards. It'll take a few months to get up to my old form. Anyway, are scores achieved from M.A.M.E. recognized as official high scores? I can say with complete certainty that the emulated game is an exact match of the arcade machine I owned (or at least extrememly close). Thanks for putting up a sight for people to check out how they compare with others who enjoy playing the same games as others.
