The exception to there being an in-game timer is this:
If you can gain as many or more lives as you lose while point pressing, it becomes leeching because it can be done indefinitely.
In this case that exception does not apply. You have a maximum of 10min to complete your run. You use all that time to press for points. Easy decision in my opinion - this is not leeching as it cannot be done indefinitely. This is a YES vote from me.
JJT - remember this in the future. Leeching and point-pressing all depend on whether or not a tactic can be done indefinitely.
I totally agree with you. I think in most cases the TGTS 5 life rule removes this exception anyways. Also, collecting the same 1-up more than once is a highly frowned upon practice. I am not sure if that is an actual listed rule somewhere but it should be and removes the exception in that case as well. Thanks for the input and the yes vote.

Your right Ben a great tactic, it is within the parameters of the game which the finishing 10 minute finishing game timer per man
At the near summit of the hill point pressing is at the highest fastest rate points per minute increases dramatically. The faster you press button to hop the faster the points come per minute.
The faster HOP HOP on the bike the faster the points come.
70k to 75k per minute X 10 = 700k to 750k possible 800k 850k or more if a player can sustain the fastest button tapping
I am voting yes
Since a few players Chad have done and there is a 10 minute finishing timer, and as Ben said a player cannot play indefinitely.
